In-game Username: Darkdan
Discord username: mitchell_the_goat
Characters you play: Bill Morison

On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: 4 to 6

Days you are available to admin on: Monday to Saturday

How old are you? 18 I can prove it

Do you have any SS14 experience outside of Wizard's Den servers, or any SS13 experience? I have played Delta-v and Frontier Station. I have made my own maps for delta V so I am familiar with commands and admin tools.

Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)? I have played locally with a few friends at a Lan event. I setup, ran and administrated the server locally. I can prove that I know the admin tools and mapping tools/commands

Have you been banned from SS14 or SS13 servers before? nope. I do have one note for RDM from when I was new, other than that one note. I have a completely clean record on Lizard and Delta V

Admins have the ability to perform various tasks which are not available to the average player. An incomplete list of these tasks is: in-game rule enforcement, in-game events, ban appeals, and out-of-game rule enforcement through things like replay/log reviews in response to player reports. With these, and any other tasks you're aware of in mind, answer the following two questions.

What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin? Helping to purge shitters as this server desperately needs more admins. I cant check my hours but you badly need admins.

What are you least interested in doing as an admin? handing out any long/perma bans but, it still needs to be done

Answer the following questions in detail, so we can get a better idea of how you'd approach adminning.

What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?
Keep gameplay moving without the round getting stuck. Upholding the rules and dealing with players who violate the rules. Facilitate good rp and resolve disputes.

Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?
I am going to keep it short. Your servers badly need admins I have been playing and been killed and abused by players violating all hosts of rules. I see this and wish to be the change in the server. I like this game and don't want it to fall into disrepair from a administration perspective. I enjoyed facilitating rp when I did lan and want to grow my skills.

How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?
When there is rarely a admin on its great! When there is not... There is RDM, self antag and borderline ERP

Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?
Writing notes and communicating with other admins. Using role bans. Formal warnings in Ahelp. Playing with them to babysit them until they stop being a problem

Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?
Admins can get involved in matters that are the responsibility of those playing security. Security deals with syndicates but they also can deal with minor self antagism. This is a good way of handling small problems in a rp friendly way that gives sec something to do when they are not dealing with syndicates yet.

Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?
Admins can boost the rp so much. If I had a dollar for every time I laughed because of something a admin did to add to rp I would have quite a few Spasos! I would love to help make others days by adding to rp by making ghost roles, sending the Chaplain on a spiritual journey and being a cent com appointed lawyer for the clown...

The following are scenarios, respond with how you would handle each as an administrator. Respond with the assumption that you are an administrator with full access to the admin tools, and that you have all the knowledge needed to use these tools. Respond in detail, explain the reasons behind decisions you make and describe any assumptions you are making. When you need to make an assumption, it is preferred for you to describe how differences in the assumption would affect your actions.

It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to "do something funny".
Tell them that the round has just started and that my intervention is not required. Offer to send them to respawn so they can play.

You see a clown using crayon to write on the floor in front of security. The clown writings are negative things about security, like "shitsec". A secoff tells the clown that they're being arrested for vandalism, stuns them, and cuffs them. Before the secoff is able to get the clown into the brig, a passenger slips the secoff, causing them to lose their baton, then uses the baton to stun another secoff that comes to help as the clown runs away. The passenger escapes through disposals. Having heard an AOS radio callout, the detective enters maintenance near disposals and shoots the passenger to crit. There are four players in this scenario, the clown, the passenger, the secoff, and the detective.
secoff: odd to arrest for just using crayons but no administrative actions required. clown: no actions required clown is being the clown. passenger: warn for self antagism and RDM write a note and consider past notes. possible ban if bad notes. Detective: warn for over escalation and add note. If they have a history give a role ban for sec for short time. If bad history discus potently banning with another admin.

You and another admin have been adminning for around an hour. The rate of issues has been easily manageable due to having 2 admins. Neither of you have been talking in admin chat. You are using ahelp to warn a player for breaking a rule when the other admin joins the ahelp and confirms that it is against the rules, but that it's fine in this case and they can ignore the rule for the rest of the round. You haven't taken any other admin actions yet, such as applying a ban or writing a note.
question the other admins reasoning. If they still ignore the rule breaking, report to a higher admin as its not really my place.

Sorry for the delay, unfortunately you don't meet our current minimum requirements for adminship. The issues I've noticed are:

  • You only have 33 hours overall playtime on Wizard's Den. We require 100 hours minimum, but recommend 150 if you don't have significant experience on another SS13 or SS14 server.
  • You received a 12 hour ban about a day after making this application. We require that candidates not have any game or role bans in the last 2 months.

Feel free to reapply once you've met the requirements
