Ryan_Ross
In-game Username: Ryan_Ross Discord username: Ryan_Ross#9678 Characters you play: Ryan Ross On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: I think around 4-6 Days you are available to admin on: All week Are you at least 18 years old? Yes How long have you been playing SS13 or SS14? 466.6 hours Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)? None Have you been banned from our game servers or SS13 servers before? Nope Answer the following questions in detail, so we can get a better idea of how you'd approach admitting. What role do you think game admins serve on our servers? I believe that admins serve the role of enforcement and community management. How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the server? For Wizard's Den Servers, I believe the roleplay is acceptable for LRP, although I think not having a guide for sentences or not using space law might be a disadvantage. Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14? I want to help enforce the rules even when admins aren't online. As a regular Leviathan Player, I sometimes see players who break laws, Hell I have been a victim of one in which a guy kept metagaming and targeted me round after round for killing him on a syndi objective. Often times I report it or deal with it myself, but the admins aren't always active, especially during the Night and Morning times. This is why I want to join the team and help enforce during those hours, as well as keep an eye out for rule violators who might slip through the cracks. Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact? A better positive impact is instead of banning them from the server. I teach and educate them on the rule they violated, how to prevent it and alternatives to the situation. For example, a chef gibbing a person for entering or stealing from the kitchen. If its self antag. I would first check if they have done this in the past and ask for some background on the situation. For example. Me: Hello, Chef could you please explain why you Gibbed the person Chef: He broke into my kitchen and stole my stuff, so I stabbed him as a warning, and he started attacking back. So I gibbed him. Me: I understand that he did all those things, but you shouldn't gib him or even stab him in the first place. I notice you have been doing this in the past. Now, You must understand you have been warned several times and gibbing players isn't acceptable since only the captain can authorize a execution. This will result in a minor role-ban. But I will tell you how to prevent this in the future. You can just go to security and notify them of the crime. Chef: I do tell security but they just ignore me. Me: You can try talking to the warden or, go and reach out to a lawyer who can help. Often times Lawyers will bring your case up to sec, the captain and make a big fuss about it. You can also try speaking to the HoP Chef: Ah thank you. I see how I can handle this situation in other methods. I am sorry about gibbing the person and I agree with the roleban Me: You're welcome, Please don't gib people next time and I hope you use these other methods Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this? In game, I have had a negative experience, A player named Simon Bode continued hunting me down each game even trying to poison me when he wasn't an antag (I know he wasn't because nukes happened after and checked the list at the end) It was late at night and I was tired and didnt report him. I simply left the game after the round and I stoped seeing him. It wouldve been smarter for players to just Ahelp. and I dont want others from experiencing this like I did. I would check up on players who I think are being followed or targeted by the same people last round and help them out. Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it? I have had good experiences with a game admin, Mainly with Tom Cruise, This one time I was working atmos and I forgot to turn on internals and walked into a room full of plasma. I saw tom cruise watching me and I told him what happened saying " So Uh Plasma kills" He enjoyed the laugh and I actually tell him storys some times on funny stuff. I even sent him a picture of me putting a clown in the zoo instead of the brig. The following are scenarios, respond with how you would handle each as an administrator. Respond with the assumption that you are an administrator with full access to the admin tools and that you have all the knowledge needed to use these tools. Respond in detail, explain the reasons behind the decisions you make, and describe any assumptions you are making. When you need to make an assumption, it is preferred for you to describe how differences in the assumption would affect your actions. It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. A chaplain prays to you "Give me a task my lord". I would first wait a while to check if any players roll a antag. If its syndicate, I would make the chaplain a syndicate and give them a special item for fun like a sacrificial blade. I would give them a message saying "Punish all whom steer away from me." If it's zombies or nuclear operatives I would likely just ignore the prayer unless if its a call for help or something related. You see a clown using crayon to write on the floor in front of security. The clown writings are negative things about security, like "shitsec". A secoff tells the clown that they're being arrested for vandalism, stuns them, and cuffs them. Before the secoff is able to get the clown into the brig, a passenger slips the secoff, causing them to lose their baton, then uses the baton to stun another secoff that comes to help as the clown runs away. The passenger escapes through disposals. I would possibly punish the passengers unless they are a syndicate because I believe that could fall under self-antag. I feel the clown wouldn't be punished because it's the clown's job to make Sec angry. Since it's what they do. However in this case. We could argue its sec's fault for open carrying. So I feel for this situation, I would only punish the greytide if sec actually reports them. Via Ahelp. If not Ill just let it slide. You log in to handle an ahelp that came in while nobody was online about "self-antag" activity. The player being reported as self-antagging was being a problem and could be considered acting outside the rules, but they are no longer online and cannot be contacted about their behavior. While outside of the rules, the infractions are minor and would not normally result in more than a warning in most cases. In this situation, I would simply just go back offline and wait until tomorrow to see if I find the person again, I will also check if they were given a punishment already or not. If I find them again, Ill let them know about what they did wrong and not to do it. If I don't see them again, I will pass the info on to the other admins and let them handle it if they see them. Or If they arnt found, I would just let it slide since I cant do anything about it Edited September 7 by Ryan_Ross
