Akira
In-game Username: Akira Discord username: Akira Shiroyanagi, server name is just Akira Characters you play: Akira Shiro How long have you been playing SS13 or SS14? I've been playing SS14 for 343 hours now, however I've never played SS13 before, but maybe I will one day. How many hours are you available per day: A lot. Bonus : I don't live in the US (I'm french), so maybe I'll be available when the others admins aren't. Days you are available on: Almost everyday. Prior administration experience (SS13 experience recommended). Please also post a way for us to verify this: None Have you been banned from our game servers or SS13 servers before? Nope This is the more essay-y part of the application, you should answer the following questions in detail, so we can get a better idea of how you'd approach adminning. What role do you think game admins serve on our servers? I belive the role of admins (admemes) is crucial to maintain a positive atmosphere in the station and ensuring an enjoyable gaming experience. Many admins enforce the rules by permabanning individuals who violate them, as these rule-breaker can disrupt the experience for others. While I understand this approach, I belive that those who break the game rules should not necessarily be permanently banned right away, as they too can find enjoyment in SS14 (depends on the rule, of course if someone is sexualy assaulting another player ingame he should be perma banned). Allow me to share a personal experience that exemplifies this perspective. One year ago, when I was new to the game (it was my second round), a syndie left a C4 in a hallway. Being inexperienced at the time, something I would definetly not do now, I made the impulsive decision to take the C4 and plant it on a random wall. Shortly after, I got bwoinked by an admin telling me that althrough my actions were inappropriate, he understood that it was my first time playing SS14. They offered me a chance to rectify the situation by assisting the engineer in repairing the wall, wich I did. This encounter had a big impact on me. Not only did I learn from my mistakes, but it also instilled a sense of responsibility and respect for the game's rules. Since then, I have never again broken any rules, and I have even started creating SS14 videos on Youtube. Overall, while I acknowledge the necessity of administering consequences to those who violate rules, I belive that providing guidance and opporunities for growth can be more beneficial on the long run. By offering second chances and promoting a constructive approach, admins can help every player to have a great time while playing SS14 and even become a valuable member of the SS14 community. In addition to their role in maintaining the game's atmosphere, I belive admins also possess the ability to create unique and exciting events for players, while making sure it doesn't disturb anyone (like creating a poll the round before to ask players if they want a special event next round). Of course this should stay occasional. How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the server? I think overall the roleplay status is fine. I've never played in any MRP servers, because I find LRP enough to have fun. Sometimes some players are making small mistakes, like HoS asking a syndie for the codewords, or cap talking about the nukies, but often theses mistakes are made by new players. The only things that I dislike are the players who play to win. Like, we're here to have fun, so stop insulting me just because as a sec I failed arresting some syndie. Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14? My passion for SS14 runs deep, and I am dedicated to support its developpement in any way possible. However, my lack of coding skills has presented a challenge in actively contributing to the game's progress. Despite my efforts to learn from scratch, I found the task to be quite difficult. As a result I decided to create a Youtube channel as a means to showcase the enjoyable aspects of SS14 to both SS13 players and those who are unfamiliar with theses games. Additionally, I have taken the initiative to support SS14's developpement by making donations on Patreon. While theses efforts have felt meaningful, I have come to realize that they may not be enough to truly make a lasting impact. Consequently, the idea of becoming an admin has crossed my mind. Interacting with the SS14 community through my Youtube channel has exposed me to a common sentiment expressed by the players : the dislike for admins who issue permabans for minor infractions. Reading my comments, I wanted more and more to become an admin. Becoming an admin would allow me to shape the experience of new players, ensuring it remains enjoyable overall. Rather than resorting to immediate permabans for rule breaking, I envision a more constructive approach that offers individuals a chance to rectify their mistakes, just as the admin once did for me. It is my belief that by creating a fair and inclusive environnement, we can foster a positive and vibrant community within SS14. Furthermore, as an admin, I aspire to organize occasional humorous events. Theses events would searve as a lighthearted break from the norm, injecting an element of fun into the gameplay. While theses events would be infrequent, perhaps occuring once every hundred rounds, they would provide players with memorable and enjoyable experience, fostering a stronger connection to the game and it's community. Like you see I have a lot of free time lol Anyways thanks for reading me, my discord DMs are open (Akira Shiroyanagi#2428) and I will also check the forums
