[SpaceJump] - [Banned for being a belligerant dick]

Ban reason: Very clear breaking of rule number 1 - was being belligerent and said faggot to an officer.
Date of ban: 3/13/23 ~12:00AM
Length of ban: Ban is appeal-only

Events leading to the ban: Me (Ludwig Humboldt) and some other botanists were getting harangued by some Security officers, of which the only one I remember would be Rigby Yoggins (Who is one of the most entertaining players I've ever spectated). Sec officers were search-and-seizing all of the botanists, they roughed us up, but we got away back to botany, where they visited us again. Castle doctrine was clearly in effect so I swatted the bastards with my botany-issued scythe but it ended pretty quickly with my face hitting the the shuttle floor after one whack from a stun stick. I got handcuffed, and in my drunken belligerent state, I observed that my only method for expressing my anger towards these power tripping security officers was with words. So I decided words it would be, and I concocted some heinous and vile statements that I could spit at these officers while in my handcuffed state. The result was me overstepping the boundaries that actually were very clearly set by the server.

Reason the ban should be removed: I think my ban should be lifted because I really do enjoy playing the game. As much as I harp on the security department or atmos, the inter-departmental conflict is one of the things that gives the game it's charm and it's fun atmosphere, from this I've learned that I can be more patient and respectful towards others playing the game, who are doing so for fun. Just like me. I was absolutely purposefully being hurtful because I had no other methods to vent my frustration and I let it get the better of me. I still think security were being dicks though but again, that's one of the things I love the game for.

Thanks for considering my second ban appeal, I should have done it correctly the first time!

What led you to believe there is any castle doctrine in Space Station 14 or on Wizard's Den servers? Additionally, were castle doctrine to be in effect, why would that empower employees (botanists) of the property owner (Nanotrasen) to use lethal force against other employees (security) who are performing tasks (search/seizure?) related to their employment?

Regardless of what you might think about Karl Marx and his ideologies, I believe he framed it well when he said:
"Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary."

In this case, my arms were a botany scythe that I used to cut wheat from hydroponic pools and authoritarian heads from authoritarian bodies. (Attempted to separate authoritarian heads from authoritarian bodies. The authoritarians won...)

What did lead me to believe castle doctrine was in effect? As a botanist, Nanotrasen specially put me in charge of defending and honoring the tools of the craft, as well as the fruits of the hydroponics system; from all threats. Both foreign and domestic. Security's job is to protect the people of the station, and while that does include protecting the people from the people, that was not the context that this situation took place in. They were bullies who had a need to impose their will on others and when others fight back, security cripples the supply of food to the station.

All this is under the pretense of course, that this is a silly video game that in this instance, got taken too far. I've had a blast teaming up with security guys to beat the shit out of spiders and meat monsters, and whenever I play medical I only drug the clowns, instead of security. Thank you for the response Chief_Engineer.

Out of character, what led you to believe that attacking security with a scythe in this instance was permitted by Wizard's Den's escalation rules?

If I may offer a counter- what led Security to believe that attacking botanists with stunsticks in this instance was permitted by the Wizard's Den's escalation rules?

But that's irrelevant! The cards had been played and the dice had been rolled, my Castle Doctrine was in effect, and security's no-knock-raid for my head was in the process of breaking down the door! Rules were cast aside; rivalries had been formed! Botany versus Security, except in this instance, there are no heroes and there are no villains. Just two dumb sides that had points to prove and principles to uphold, be it for the sake of the station or for the sake of our own egos.

I bring up that first point again, if this were an opposite situation and Security had called me a faggot and thusly gotten banned, I would imagine you'd ask the same question? I'd be curious about what you think about this.
Feel free if you have other questions regarding my first response.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that I banned the alt you tried to evade with.

You can appeal no sooner than 6 months after your last evasion attempt and only with a voucher of several months of good behavior from another well known SS13 or SS14 server.
