does anyone know how I could create a custom item on my server?

ive just got a file named cum in the fun folder, i edited it to change the ID and name to cum. tried running the thing, it doesnt show in the entity spawn panel.

If you want to modify the game, it's highly recommended you read the getting started guide. A dev environment isn't necessary, but is very helpful, especially as it uses version control. You can do without it though, and just read the YAML section of the bike horn guide.

hey, absoloutley no idea what the fuck this means. i followed the guide before i made the post, i just added to my server's prototype items folder by adding that "cum.yml" file. I just run the server to see if it worked, which it never does.

i think i see now, using a normal server wont work. i need to use this git thing i downloaded and somehow use it to run a server, but i have no idea how to run it.
