The logs appear to hold this explanation up, though you do seem to have been also attacking a crew monitoring server in a ghost role just prior to that so we'd request you try not to break infrastructure when you're in a ghost role like that. We won't hold this ban against you, even though it has already expired.

As terrible as this reasoning is and as low-effort as your appeal is I suppose it is an explanation as any. We'll accept this appeal but replace it with an appeal-only Security/Command roleban due to this issue and prior issues with you attacking other players with no provocation or warning. After a few weeks of being issue-free you may appeal the new rolebans if you still wish to play as those roles.

this is an obscene amount of information to read so i'll just render a general opinion that went into consideration when we revisited the rules. Previously the rules (prior to MRP even existing) stated that putting someone in the permabrig for syndicate contraband alone was not appropriate. It was revised since this generally made security even harder to play by virtue of catching criminals with obscene amounts of contraband (emag, esword, whatever) and not being able to do anything about it besides confiscate it because you didn't catch them in the act of killing someone. This also existed pre-forensics, which made connecting people to crimes without witnesses virtually impossible, and improbable even if there were witnesses as people are notoriously bad about remembering specifics. The rules were revised to allow a permabrigging if someone is caught with syndicate contraband. This isn't a hard list or rule of objects that are contraband as that would be subject to frequent change and endless lawyering. It is generally understood to be "anything you can normally only get from a Syndicate uplink". This doesn't so much imply that heads/security know what's contained in an uplink exactly but more so they can identify non-standard or foreign equipment on the station that would be unusual for a crew member to have. Virtually anything branded "syndicate" falls into this category. It can be confiscated without pretext. You could also jail or potentially permabrig the person in possession of it, though permabrigging someone for having merely a cosmetic clothing item would probably be considered "pushing it" by a lot. "Weapons" and "armors" that are held by non-ranking (i.e non head/security) crewmembers (excluding the bartender's shotgun/armor unless it is misused) can be confiscated with no pretext unless there is some sort of emergency situation or other justification for that crewmember having it. The purpose of allowing permabrigging for possession of contraband was to combat two things: Security being powerless to keep obviously bad actors under lock and key if they "haven't done anything (yet)", and syndicate agents or troublemakers freely and openly wearing things like the Syndicate EVA suit and protesting when they get arrested for wearing obviously enemy-of-the-corporation equipment. And just because something "can be found in maint" doesn't not make it contraband. Nobody forces you to pick up contraband you find in maint and keep it.

We were banning large numbers of individuals who decided to come into the SS14 discord while the auth servers were down and start posting slurs/insults/porn/gore in the general channels much to everyone's distaste. You were likely caught in the crossfire as someone trying to start trouble as we collectively banned at least ten other people around the same time.

A voucher of good behavior should be obtained from a well-known or decently active SS13/SS14 server. If it is a mainstream server, we recommend using that server's admin-help to ask for a voucher from one of the administrators explaining that you are trying to appeal a ban on SS14's Wizard's Den and want to show you have been a problem-free player during your playtime on the server. You give us significant doubts that you are as new a player as you claim. You seem to have an extremely firm grasp on things like how to use LOOC, how to report players, know that administrators may have a ticketing system for reports, and general gameplay mechanics or expectations. Most players with accounts of similar age to yours still struggle with the controls and general flow of the game at this stage.

Hi. There are a bunch of factors that go into this ban and why this appeal is getting denied. The principal factor is this gem in the SS14 discord that you posted of your own volition, the context of you discussing the events leading up to your ban: This alone very nearly made us compound your ban length. You obviously had some inkling that what you were doing was not appropriate and proceeded to continue with it anyways. The other factors that play into this are: Roleplaying that you hate your governing body as a head of staff and using that as a vehicle to sabotage the station's efforts - this is about as good of an excuse as "roleplaying a murderer" Blatantly self-antagonizing, especially as a head of staff, by being a major annoyance/disruption to the crew. Realizing, by your own admittance, what you were doing was considered self-antagonism Even if you were not a head of staff, your behavior would still be extremely problematic for everyone for no valid purpose besides a reason you invented on the spot and because of: At minimum five prior notes this month alone for antagonistic behavior Another four notes in May for various offenses A prior ban on the 16th of this month for sabotaging security's power for very frivolous reasons You are, at minimum, a problematic player to state it generously. This is your second ban stacked up against an excessive number of warnings for generally problematic behavior. Your next temporary ban is highly likely to be appeal only or measured in months if not. We will not be accepting this appeal. You can wait it out.

Hi, Let me be the second person to tell you that our administrators are not on the server 24/7 nor do they get presented with a list of "unhandled" ahelps when joining the server, nor are they paid or required to deal with your hostility. While we try to address ahelps that come in while offline, we lack the coverage to get all of them. Your report is not being willfully ignored because we hold some predetermined disposition towards you. Immediately coming out of the gate swinging at the administrator trying to handle an issue that's come up since they connected by accusing them of favoritism does neither help your case in what they are attempting to contact you for or help your prior issue get addressed. Yelling at other players in LOOC/IC that you are reporting them also does not favor your case. You then proceeded to take several ghost roles and start attacking other players unprovoked and continued to threaten them for "failrp". It is also pretty clear to me that you are lying in your appeal as you most assuredly swung first at the rat king before they rightfully killed you. Tell us why we should believe this is not your usual degree of interaction with people.

In addition to violating a naming rule and continuing to speak russian after being told not to, common swears like you stated are not what we are concerned about.
