Some questions for you: 1) Did you read the rules when you connected or at any point. 2) If you don’t understand the rules, what do you think you should do, and did you do it? metagaming is a serious offence and is a very common rule in a lot of social online roleplaying games and games in general. This is to stop people passing information from outside the round to players in the round, to give them an advantage they wouldn’t otherwise have. It ruins any element of surprise, it’s not fair on the other players and it even ruins the experience for the players you think you’re helping. Literally any Google search for this term would have gave you an answer, or asking in game, on discord or through ahelp, so there’s no sympathy for not understanding the rules and being banned, when you don’t get help with them. Not wanting to miss new content also doesn’t help your case as you should think about the consequences before breaking rules. I’ll reduce this to roughly 1 week so expiring on the 30th. Since this is your second ban for meta communications, if you do it again you’ll be banned for a month or more, understood?

4 day ban isn’t the end of the world. clown isn’t a pass to do things against the rules, make the crew laugh and be mischievous sure, but actively getting in the way of sec, breaking into sec or damaging sec every round is tiresome and griefing in the latter (not saying you did this, I have no knowledge of your ban). Space drugs is also not a reason to be an ass. The next person who does something stupid and says it was because of drugs can expect a harsher ban. You can do stupid stuff while on drugs under that defence but breaking rules is not one of them. Ban expires on the 28th at 12:10am server time. Unless anyone has anything to add in your defence, such as admins or the warden / security in question, I suggest sitting it out.

2 week ban isn’t the end of the world, you can still play technician and learn some more. I’d advocate reducing the ban length but I’ll defer this to the banning admin / team and they can reply further.

Firstly I’ll say I’m not sure if I’ve come across you in game and if I have I certainly don’t remember you. Also, perma bans are often just to get people to appeal so we can discuss what went wrong. In this case, distro tampering is major griefing and warrants a perma to sus the player out. What you did essentially could have ruined the fun for a lot of other players. If you’re not happy with the round you can leave at any point, and join one of the other servers. In addition, you also have the option to vote for a restart. If that isn’t passing then maybe take the hint people are having fun. If people are self antagonist on extended and griefing substations etc, report them via ahelp. If lots of players are dead and people are stalling the round (doesn’t happen much now), report it. This is your first ban so I’d be willing to change this to a one week ban but I’ll defer this to the other admins to chime in.

Phew that was hard to read in one breath… Anyway, I’ll start by saying the ban was on the 28th of April so your recollection of the event is very good… I’ll also add you have 3 prior bans for variations of self antag including one permaban. So this is your fourth total ban. You’re clearly not learning your lesson or wanting to abide by the rules so why should we unban you? Just because it’s been some time? I’d probably also add that if you are unbanned, you should probably be banned from all head roles since you can’t be trusted with the responsibility.

Clearly did not read the rules on joining then. There is a rule specifically against bigotry and we’re pretty clear this includes speciesism (rules will now be amended to make this plain and clear), as this is another outlet for peoples hate. At the end of the day people want to play the game to escape real life, not get abused. Even without being bigoted you’d still be breaking rule 1. This is also your second perma in a month. Not a good look.

Sorry but your appeal stinks as does this reasoning. Why didn’t you read the rules when you’re forced to on connecting for the first time? Regardless, why did you think it was okay to kill someone and disconnect. If you think that’s sound judgment in a multiplayer roleplaying game, ruining someone else’s round for literally no reason then how can we trust you not to do the same when you get bored? Your reason for being unbanned is also not a reason. Should think about the consequences of your actions before you do them. Trying to ban evade because you “didn’t read the rules” and “didn’t know you could appeal” are also both bad excuses and don’t fly. It’s not okay anywhere else and when connecting it typically tells you to appeal on the website. All that aside I’d be willing to give you another shot, so one more time, why should we let you back in. I was about to unban you but thought I’d check anyway. Your friend doesn’t seem too bothered about being affected by this ban I.e no unban appeals, and just to check, have you stopped sharing your computer?

Telling us it’s been long enough won’t make us unban you. And unless you come from a non English speaking country you definitely know that what you said had meaning. Even if you wanted to call them a maggot that’s some pretty strong language, when you should have probably stuck to ahelp and venting another way. Unbanning on this occasion but do think before you speak. Don’t say things you don’t know the meaning of.

Going to accept this appeal but do re familiarise yourself with the rules, be on your best behaviour and ahelp if you need anything rather than taking matters into your own hands. I think the whole admin team are in agreement that if you skirt or break the rules again it’ll be permanent no appeal. ahelp before you do anything that might be even close to breaking a rule l, and remove yourself from a situation and ahelp it if you think you might end up breaking arule, or see someone else doing so.

This ban is now old with no response from op so at risk of being closed.

- suggestions should be made in the discord channel ideaguys, not via email. - if you’re new to the game do not play head roles or supervisory roles like HoS and Warden respectively. If and when you are unbanned I recommend a ban from these roles for a long while. - killing people as security is not allowed unless your life is in danger - potentially in danger is not really the same when you have the means to detain people with tasers, cuffs etc. - working with the syndicate is also not allowed, especially as security or head roles. I’ll let this sit for any other admins to chime in but otherwise you will be serving a minimum 1 week ban for ruining other peoples round.

Ban time is sufficient punishment Do note that contributing does not give you a get out of jail free card. If you’re about to leave then just leave, notify an admin if you’re a head or special role so it can be replaced. Don’t cause chaos then just leave because you’re bored. appeal accepted.

Appeal accepted on the basis it was due to expire tomorrow and you realise your error. Please re-read the rules and understand discrimination of any kind is against the rules. Any subsequent ban for the same reason will not be as lenient.

Just going to add some points for thought: - If you’re new to the game you should have all head roles set to off, not low. - This isn’t exactly a demanding game, I thoroughly suggest against sharing a computer to play this game. We may treat all connections from the same computer as alts. - Should we unban you, which account will be your main? The other two will be banned and anyone using them will have to appeal. personally for the original offence you’d be unbanned by now but alting is another ball game with no excuse. I’ll defer this for now to whoever is handling this ban.

I’m satisfied you’ve been banned long enough for this now, but do note if you imply others are being racist, this should be reported to game staff in the first instance, and not an outburst to lots of players on multiple occasions. If you’re banned for anything related to slurs, racism or discrimination in future or implying it, expect the ban to be longer.

Give me more. Your ban reason said to make a good appeal, so far you’ve just said you got angry at someone and broke the rules instead of reporting the other for rule breaking. And yes, given you’ve been banned before for not doing your duties as HoS AND for using slurs, it doesn’t seem like you just want to play the game peacefully. Also if you’re unable to identify what a slur is and just in general that you shouldn’t be abusive to other players in OOC (the clown may have been an antag, would you abuse them for killing you then?) Your other bans are old news at this point but give me more to understand you won’t get banned again other than you promise.

Appeal accepted. From deliberation with other admins it seems it was Rule 1. This was probably down to stealing kit if the person was to come back, personally I don’t see an issue if you were to give it back and theft is an In character issue. I believe this ban was in place of a warning since it was after the fact and you were not available for warning. In future try not to steal from AFK / SSD players is my main advice. You could have probably got permission and captain should have demoted / secured the head (or someone reporting them for taking a head role and leaving).

For reference, this is your 6th ban, not by me. I’ve banned you twice for testing our rules, as have others. Usually after this length of time I’d unban but your appeal is just bad. It’s just pointing out you were banned and nothing else. Removing the ban just because time has passed is not a good enough reason. So again, why should we unban you? Are you aware you’re on thin ice regarding our ban policy and if we unban you there’s a chance you will be removed from the community if you accumulate another perma ban?

I’ll preface this message by saying I have no idea who you are and was not involved at all. I’m also a Euro so can offer a different angle on the whole “language barrier”. Firstly you should not message game staff / discord mods about your ban. You post an appeal here in the first instance or if you feel like it was abuse or mishandling, message a project manager who was not involved (a red name). Taking the argument to DMs is always going to end bad. I have no opinion on gaslighting so I’m not even going to bring it up. Your messages do come across as sarcastic. There’s 3 specific messages in those screenshots with words like “My bad” and “sorry” which you obviously didn’t mean because you were being sarcastic in those messages. Also being plain obtuse. These things aren’t against the rules so again, no bearing on me here but trying to justify yourself that you were not being sarcastic is just silly. If you do have an issue with the rules there are means and ways to go about discussing them. Likewise if its in a current round you just wait till the round is over, ahelp it with full information and if nobody is on, ask in general if there’s an admin free to discuss it (don’t ping) or just get on with it after ahelping and discuss it after. And finally, I hope you realise that this would not have escalated this far if you had of handled this in the correct manner. Again from these small exerts I can’t see anything egregious in my opinion, but all of our rules are consistent in not being an ass or deliberately causing issues. Not implying that you are but this whole thread stinks. I’m proposing that you don’t get a perma ban and just settle with a time out but this is above me as I’m not a discord mod.
