  1. Additionally, based on information provided via an appeal posted from another SS14 server, I am also letting you know that your ban is indefinite insofar as you being underage. By your own admission, you're 13. Minimum age to play on any Wizard's Den server is 16. This portion of your ban is non-negotiable and non-appealable until you are at least 16 years of age.
  2. It appears that your rolebans expired on March 13th, so you've actually been free and clear for the last 10 days. Were you just trying to appeal the rolebans themselves at this point? Will leave this open for response in case the purpose of the appeal was misinterpreted.
  3. We have elected to accept the appeal at this time. Your Discord account will be unbanned momentarily.
  4. Upon review of the replay and pending an administrative vote on the actions described in the appeal, we've elected to deny this appeal at this time. While we can appreciate occasionally missing minor details of situations, the overall state of the round and the impact your lackadaisical attitude towards the antag in question as well as the fact that you essentially let the HoS get killed and looted under your command leads me to believe you may need a bit more time in regular roles before you can give any kind of Command another go. Playing Command does require you to pay more attention and weigh the needs of the station against what one or two people want to do. As a side note, I would like to remind you that admins do share details of investigations with each other, and that DMing one admin wih additional information as opposed to just plainly stating your case here comes across as a bit like you're admin shopping. While that may not have been your intent, please try not to do that in the future with your next appeal. Just put the facts in the thread so it's less chasing around anyone has to do individually. The role ban may be appealed two weeks from today, March 2nd, 2024. Given the length of the ban in question, the administrative team have also elected to let the remaining time stand - your game ban will expire on March 4th at approximately 3:30pm EST.
  5. After lengthy review, your appeal has been denied. Several factors were considered when reviewing your appeal: putting both the word itself as well as the thinly-veiled replacement did not help your case in the slightest (we have your ban history, there is no need to drop the slurs directly in your appeal) a personal issue from me - the title of your appeal seems to try and discredit the severity of the issue (if you can't take it seriously, why should we?) essentially copypasting your previous appeal to the current application (a few words had been swapped, so not a 1:1 but the point stands) refusal to acknowledge other points that were brought up in your first appeal, specifically ones brought up by lonesoldier and Chief_Engineer: As such, your appeal has been denied. Speaking frankly, we have very little faith that you will return to the community as a productive member at this point, and your appeals have done little to sway anyone that things would be different if they were accepted. You may appeal this ban again as of February 1st, 2024.
  6. While what you said was not a "slur", it was definitely intended to incite and offend - going into a server and stating "I'm christian, I believe all gay people are abominations" is going to get a pretty swift reaction from most communities. I cannot see a discussion between neutral parties where a statement like that is said without some kind of intent to upset people. As such, this Discord appeal is denied.
  7. Your last appeal was processed on 12/22, with the caveat that you wait two weeks before submitting a new appeal. It has only been 7 days. Please wait the additional 7 days before re-appealing.
  8. Upon review of the round/details in question, I am accepting this appeal and making a note that this ban should not count towards your standard ban count within a six month period. Two things to keep in mind: 1. Salamander is MRP - even if you and the other person are in agreement with the nickname being used in round (in this case, "spider thing") at least try to avoid any sort of speciesism language. This largely appears to be a misinterpretation of that rule, and at a glance I can see why this ban would have been placed, even if it was just to get your side of the story (you had apparently logged off by the time this was brought to anyone's attention). 2. You've been through this process enough to know that even if a ban may be applied in error, you're still expected to follow the appeals format. I'm waiving that expectation in this case solely because it's the holidays, but in the future, please just copy-paste the layout like you would with any other appeal.
  9. Based on appeal context, it does look like this could be appealed at any point since it was technically self-imposed. Accepted.
  10. We typically do not allow users to have multiple accounts, hence why only "Destroyer1181" was unbanned. Your alternate accounts will not be unbanned at this time. EDIT: To clarify, we've cleared up the conflict between your alt and main account - "Destroyer118" will remain banned, and any conflicting information between the two accounts has been resolved so you should be able to log in again. If you are still encountering issues, feel free to DM me here and I'll look into it further.
  11. Taken directly from the channel description for #general, where you were initially warned: "No memes in general (you're not kool enough)" is enough of a warning to qualify as a deterrent, meaning this complaint is largely unfounded. From what it looks like, you were given verbal warnings before the official warning was applied, and it also looks like it wasn't just one moderator who was trying to work with you.
  12. Looks like you got caught in the crossfire of the individual who actually should've been banned (and was, if it makes you feel any better). Processing this ban under speedy appeal, this appeal is accepted. If for some reason you get banned in the future, this one will not count against you for future considerations.
  13. Gonna be real, looks like you got banned in the mixup precisely because of the ID swap that occurred after the raider killed you. Processing this under our speedy appeals process because you shouldn't have been banned in the first place. Your account will be reinstated momentarily and will not count against you in any fashion moving forward. Thanks for your patience, and if you have any further questions you may DM myself or Chief_Engineer directly - we'll be happy to help.
  14. realistically these ideas get run through more than just emo and factually speaking they're honestly not bad for the health of the game. besides, ss14 is gonna be a playtest for the foreseeable future, so you should assume that any and every system you like about the game is going to see some new iteration/refresh at least a few times before a final product is decided on. also emo doesn't hate you. i do though. fuck you.

  16. Going to handle this appeal under an expedited process due to the simplicity of the issue. After watching the replay, this appeal is accepted, with a word of caution in mind. I recommend easing up on your department staff when operating as a HoS or warden - saying no is one thing, but being a hardass is a great way to ruin your entire department's experience, especially considering that they're likely being heckled by other crewmembers simply for existing. While I respect why the roleban was initially applied, as the Head of Security you are within your rights to hire and fire crewmembers from security within reason. Considering that a direct responsibility of the warden/HoS is to avoid mismanagement of armory resources, denying requests for additional lethal ammo is entirely in line with that expectation as well, and I see no issue with how you handled that. Suspecting a secoff of lying in order to procure extra/better equipment is minor, but would still fall within reason for removal from the department in this case. The events that took place AFTER the demotion are still suspect, and I'd caution you against making situations worse by being overly aggressive. A demotion would have been enough to get your point across, and the warden should not have been inserting himself into the situation or flushing the demoted secoff into disposals after the fact. While the appeal is being accepted, it is moreso due to your appeal admitting that you may have overstepped due to prior rounds affecting your judgment. Had you not admitted that, I'd have likely let the ban stick.
  17. Thanks for your patience while we looked into this. After reviewing the replay as well as your appeal, these are my main takeaways: 1. You took way more of an interest in the status of the clown than what would have been considered necessary. After the holoclown was dealt with, you should have remanded the clown to sec. Instead, you spent about 30-40 minutes of the round dragging the clown around and holding votes to decide his fate. While that is technically something you can do as captain, after that much involvement with the clown it becomes overkill. This is also reflected by you choosing to deprive the clown of his mask and then critting the prisoner while cuffed in order to save time. 2. Your argument with HoS was unwarranted, and I find that the HoS was entirely reasonable in this scenario - in fact, they were being more of an advocate towards prisoners than I've seen most LAWYERS try to be, which is impressive. The Head of Security being deprived of their role because of your overcommitment to the clown is what led to the conflict between you two. The HoS asked you multiple times to step out of security and to let him do his job, which given the circumstances was a reasonable request. While you are the captain, you had no reason to take control of security during the latter part of the shift. With these two points in mind, your roleban appeal is denied. However, I do not believe an indefinite roleban is required for this, since you had multiple opportunities to powergame the situation with the clown. While you were misguided with your actions, I do not think you were trying to be a dick for no reason. As such, your rolebans will now expire on 1/1/2024. This would put you at roughly 4 weeks from the time the ban was implemented to when it expires (technically only 25 days, but we'll round up in your favor to make this clean). If you have any further questions, you may ask in the #admin-questions channel on Discord.
  18. The moderator in question was kind enough to document the issue fairly well behind the scenes, so I am going to process this appeal personally rather than put it through deliberation, mostly because this is a simple issue with a simple solution. The content of your first nickname is concerning, but you at least acknowledge the fact it was done while you were malding about how a round went. It happens. Given the fact you admit it was childish, I am accepting this appeal but do keep in mind you are still on thin ice. We are normally zero tolerance when it comes to racism, even when it's only involving in-game races and fictional characters.
  19. This has been sitting a while so I'm foregoing the usual questionnaire and deliberation process and expediting your appeal. The primary reason for your ban was choosing to antagonize via DM after you were timed out for something minor. As the banning admin, I see no reason you shouldn't be given another chance. Appeal accepted. You may rejoin the Discord at your convenience.
  20. Coming into the discord to vent about a ban and then insinuate that they have family issues and that they should be beaten just because they banned you is pretty shitty. It's especially shitty when you consider they're just enforcing the rules that you yourself said you forgot in your game ban appeal. On top of that you went out of your way to continue antagonizing the moderator who timed you out which is what escalated this into a ban to begin with, as opposed to just the 24 hour timeout you originally received. Appeal denied, you can appeal this discord ban again in two weeks. In the meantime, I highly recommend getting control over your own anger issues. If you're going to treat volunteer game staff like a doormat whenever you don't get your way, then you won't be a part of the community. Simple as.
  21. You can request an account deletion by e-mailing support at [email protected], any other method of requesting an account deletion will likely go unheard.
  22. Vote's been decided. For all of the reasons that lonesoldier stated previously, and then some, we've elected to deny your appeal at this time, and may be appealed again no sooner than September 15th, 2023. I would like to take a moment before closing this to address a few common thoughts from the team that came up during the admin discussion for this appeal. The way you've carried on in Discord, in those ahelps, and in relation to how your contributions were handled on Github were the equivalent of throwing a temper tantrum. Up until you were banned, most interactions you had with anyone on the administrative side of the game has been wrought with complaint after complaint, that things were not being done at a quick enough pace according to your timeline. You need to keep in mind, any time dedicated by coders, contributors, admins, and developers is wholly appreciated, but not mandatory by any stretch of imagination. Yes, I specifically included contributors to make sure you were put on the same playing field in that regard, because the time contributors spend working on potential additions is equally appreciated. I would like to make one final thought perfectly clear before closing this: The people who work on this project on a daily basis are all volunteers, not punching bags. Please remember that in the future if you ever choose to contribute to this project, or really any kind of passion project in the future.
  23. Can you just post a screenshot of the attached picture that Fireheart included with their voucher of good behavior? We are unable to read it as is.
