  1. I'm probably just a pre-2023 Luddite because I'm used to list inventory, but I just heavily dislike grid inventories in games. I feel that grid inventory makes inventory management much more important, but that's just me.
  2. Don't worry, it was directed toward people who just think that "ooh I'm productive by saying 'go to a diff server' and 'fork it' LOLMAO this will get them". IIRC the point of upstream was to be an SS13-like enough where forks could pop off and do their own thing (citation needed). I also don't think any created fork prior to grid inventory/inventory rework has rebased (citation needed) - could be wrong, but many people don't like grid inventory at all. I honestly like the inventory rework and I understand how hard it could've been to code in grid inventory - but honestly? I just think that grid inventory feels... uncanny. The whole point of the inventory rework was to 1. refactor code and 2. make it similar to SS13's inventory system. I'm not sure about 2, but it definitely was similar to SS13's system with item limits, sizes and more. The photo is from YogStation - a /tg/ derivative of SS13. Many (if not all) servers use a similar storage inventory to this - a bunch of squares lined up. If the bag was full due to storage/item capacity, it would turn red. Otherwise, you could put it in there. Compare the actual grid inventory to the SS13 storage. I personally just find grid inventory super weird - but I don't like arguing.
  3. I absolutely despise "You know that non-wizden servers exist right" because anybody who says this most likely does not know what it's like to maintain a fork. "Just make your own server lol! Oh just go on a different server!" I'd like to use grid inventory as an example. I personally do not enjoy grid inventory however it's been merged, and thus my fork's final rebase is going to be right before grid inventory. However, what if something I'd want is after grid inventory? Or what if a massive vulnerability that has to be patched isn't? Yes, for the latter, I can always just patch it directly into my repository due to me not having the intention to rebase - but what about the former? What if the former requires something implemented from grid inventory? What then?
  4. delay isn't that bad imo, i play from south east asia (pretty much the same ping as an aussie) and most of the game is predicted. only stuff i have problem with is combat in general and other stuff
  5. Mainly an MRP question If a nuclear operative holds you up (threatens to shoot you if you don't comply) and orders you to do something, can you do said thing? Examples: - Medical doctor being forced to open a medical door - Chef being told to cook steak for nukies as celebration In a real life scenario, if an armed gunman orders you to do something, normally you'd do it cause you're fearing for your life yes? (Also no, I'm not talking about recruiting crewmembers to work on your side)
  6. Ah, I remember most of the story now. (I was talking with some friends about the rounds via discord, I reread the messages) Round 1: I was playing engi, HoP wanted guitar, it was on lighthouse and we didn't have any CE. Next thing we know, HoP gave themselves access to get the guitar. IIRC we argued over it and then HoP let us keep it. Round 2: Playing botanist syndie when I wanted to cause a little chaos, I bought grenades and bombed the first head I saw which was HoS (the same HoP from last round), they cloned and brigged and executed me via spacing. Round 3: Played sec, all of a sudden captain/hop (same hop and hos in the last rounds) calls me to hopline, asks for my ID, I question why and it's because I'm being demoted for being "unfit for sec". I don't remember if I got my access back or not.
  7. SS14 account username: eclips_e69 Role(s): Entirety of command Date of ban: 8/21/2022 Length of ban: Permanent (I assume?) Events leading to the ban: I remember these rounds very vividly (as it was almost half a year ago), but I remember refusing to do something to HoP as CE, if I recall correctly I refused to give them insuls. Next round, I rolled syndi and bombed HoS (same HoP as last round, I didn't notice the correlation) with grenades, and them executing me. Next round, I was a secoff, and the HoP (same HoS as last round) wants me demoted for no reason. I get pissed but give in and resign (ahelped it ofcourse), after the round ends, I talk about it in discord, the person ended up getting banned but I got a command ban from moony for "abuse of the post" and "giving them a reason to grudge you in the first place". Reason the ban should be removed: I honestly do not know why I was banned (moony's statements are vague imho), and I feel it's been long enough. I don't understand how discussing it in discord was 'abuse of the post'. I doubt I even gave them a good reason for them to metagrudge me, aside from just refusing to give them something like insuls.
  8. That's a fluent string (`.ftl` files), just making it easier to localize. Use your IDEs search feature (or if you're desperate, GitHub repo search) to find them.
  9. Please remember that this is a 16+ server and there are minors. Refer to Rule 5.
  10. Rule 5 states that ERP is not allowed, even jokingly
  11. Probably wanna fill this in.
  12. I can confirm on this. One round I was simply building in the unused telesci room on Box, when I went to get more materials, Glek started stealing my stuff. I gave him multiple warnings & threats to leave, and they refused, so I enacted my threat onto them. Then they started playing victim like how I was the one trying to kill them for no reason, which is when Security began to use lethals on me (unrelated, but still). Once I was released, Glek kept doing the same bullshit of ruining my building plot, me threatening them and them playing victim.
  13. fuck you I lost the game
  14. Not a valid excuse Seriously? This is blatant self-antaging, doesn't matter if it's quiet or not, it's still self antag I want to know what your definition of "calm, nice and polite" is.
  15. also b4 you go "N$ isnt that much" YES IT IS A LOT (in my country), 1$ is 50₱ and you can get a lot of shit with 50₱
  16. okay so I was going to my local 7/11 at like 11PM when boom it was closed. so I had to walk to the other 7/11 and BOOM it was also closed (wtf). so I had to go to an open 7/11, I walk inside and there is literally nothing on the shelves. not even a melted chocolate bar. not even some chips. it was fucking empty. so I had to walk to ANOTHER 7/11 which had the shit I wanted. the thing is it was so fucking overpriced, 250php (5$) for some localized chips???? fucking imports are 250php, localized should be 50php (1$), so fuck that 7/11. I just go home, on the way home I stumble upon this cornerstore, and it had all the shit I wanted at 40php (80¢), i paid them extra since I felt like I was ripping them off. tldr 7/11 rant + local corner stores are better
