  1. To enable speedy review of all appeals, appeals that meet certain requirements may bypass the standard, often lengthy, review process. Our banning policy requires appeals which are denied using the speedy review process have this notice placed on them. Any of the following criteria typically make an appeal eligible for the speedy review process: the ban is temporary and the player indicated on the appeal that they are ok with it being processed without a vote, the ban length is less than or equal to 14 days, the appeal is older than 7 days, or the result of the appeal is obvious. You may make a staff complaint if you believe this appeal was handled improperly, but should be aware that this will typically only result in a review of the processing of the appeal itself, with the appeal being re-opened if an issue is found. An appeal is considered to have been processed improperly if the criteria to use the speedy review process was not met, or if the facts which the processing admin relied on to process the appeal were incorrect. You must concisely describe why you believe the appeal was handled improperly. If no issue is found with the processing of the appeal, the appeal itself will not be re-reviewed. If, in bad faith, you claim that an appeal was handled improperly, the reviewing head admin may decide to extend the time you must wait before you appeal and/or extend your ban duration.
  2. Given the length of time since the ban was placed, after some discussion with two other admins. We have decided to lift this ban Via our Speedy appeals process. I should warn you, You have a history of problematic behaviour and knew full well that abusing bugs and sharing the knowledge of how to abuse these bugs is highly unacceptable. You are likely to have a far harder time getting any future bans removed. Tread lightly. Appeal accepted.
  3. Closing this due to being a duplicate appeal of an already existing appeal attempt.
  4. Please read this post and use the template in it for your appeal:
  5. There is in-fact, A rule clarification stating that this is not to be done. Should you choose to ammend your appeal, This would be an opporitunity to do so.
  6. The captain's job is to organise the running of the station. Not to actively partake in Security's duties. They are a figurehead, Advisor and leader. They have their own equipment for their own personal defense.
  7. A previous rule clarification has specified an answer to this, though for the sake of elaboration I will provide more context. Previous Clarification: The reason this is not permitted is two-fold. 1. It often results in Heads acting as Mini-Heads of Security, So much so that we even have terms like HoPCurity. This removes the player from the duties of the role they are playing and puts them in a much more combative state often reffered to as Valid-Hunting. We call this "Valid-hunting" because it is a player who's job is not to seek out threats, looking for a reason to attack said threats. This often comes around because these players incorrectly assume that because they have the tools to act as security, that they are allowed to do so. The flip-side of this, is that it removes gameplay from the Security Department, it makes it less fun for the players who have signed up to deal with the threats in the round. and feels awful for the antagonists who shouldn't have to watch their back for a fully kitted out Head of Personel, chief engineer or Chief medical officer. 2. The act of aquiring this equipment also falls under the Powergaming rules. The heads of staff other than the Head of Security have no need for Cuffs, Batons, Flashbangs, Security Webbing and belts, Nor do they have a solid reason to request them most of the time. The only time someone in command has any real reason to make use of this equipment is if Security has fallen, Nuclear operatives have made their presence known, Or a Mass outbreak of zombies has occured. If an attempt has been made on the life of a specific head, it may be reasonable to request an upgrade to their defensive equipment in the form of a disabler, however this does not give them the right to begin chasing down antagonists. The purpose of defensive equipment is to delay or deter a threat from continuing their assualt, and buy time for the defending party to escape or seek help. By using this equipment to go on the hunt for antagonists, the player in question regardless of their role is therefor Validhunting. To conclude this, The reasons that heads are not permitted to attain this gear short of these explicit reasons is to prevent a slew of other rules issues, as well as to further benefit the round of both Security, and Antagonists.
  8. There is already a rules clarification that specifies that the use of MaxCaps is not allowed by Crew.
  9. Just to make the case known, Rolebans are not bugged, they just do not "lock" or grey out the jobs for you. Had you attempted to join as one of them, it simply would not have worked. Similarly, even though you can set your preferences for them. You would not be chosen for the roles. The server actively ignores your attempts to take roles that you are banned from, instead of locking the buttons or preventing you from setting your preferences. This is more of a UI representation issue than anything else.
  10. Due to your attempt to evade your ban, you are banned indefinitely. You may appeal your ban, but only at least 6 months after your last ban evasion attempt, and only with a voucher of good behavior from another SS13/SS14 server. A voucher of good behavior should be obtained from a well-known or decently active SS13/SS14 server. If it is a mainstream server, we recommend using that server's admin-help to ask for a voucher from one of the administrators explaining that you are trying to appeal a ban on SS14's Wizard's Den and want to show you have been a problem-free player during your playtime on the server. A voucher should be indicative of at least a few months of play. If the voucher is not from a mainstream server, let us know and we will figure out a way to verify it.
  11. You are Already Voucherbanned. You were told this previously during your appeal for the specified incident. You were told that this would mean no appeals would be considered before six months had passed. At the time the ban was placed, this would have been 18 July 2024. However, After checking for the original date of your ban... I have realised you attempted to Evade your ban under the username TMLoL Due to your attempt to Evade your Voucher-ban, You may not appeal until 25 July 2024. Any further attempts to appeal before this date will be closed and locked immediately without discussion.
  12. You have hit a VPN data centre ban. This is not a ban on your account specifically, but the VPN provider. Make sure you entirely disable your VPN and you will be able to connect. If you require the use of a vpn to be able to play, you may request a VPN exemption under the admin messages section of the forums. If you disable your VPN and still cannot connect, contact us through the admin messages section and we will assist you further.
  13. this is the homophobic slur in question. If you would like to reword your appeal, feel free to do so.
  14. This is not actually an account ban. What you have encountered is a data centre ban, meaning that the VPN provider itself is banned. Totally disable your VPN and you should be able to connect without issue. If you have issues, or want to request a VPN exemption. The place to do so is in the admin messages section of the forums.
  15. A voucher is required to appeal a voucher ban. Appeal denied due to a lack of voucher.

  17. I have spent time looking into the events of the round. as well as reviewing the timer on the ban. It is clear to see that while you did in-fact open the canister, You did not drag the canister to the bar. It is also clearly evident that you were not the one to ignite the plasma. There were no deaths as a result of your own actions, however the ignition did in-fact cause some fatalities. With regards to the fact the plasma was present for ignition due to your opening of the canister, an adjustment to the time of the ban was in-fact apropriate. However our findings and the content of this appeal have brought us to the decision to remove the ban with a one and three quarter day portion of it served. Appeal accepted. You will now be able to connect to Wizden servers. Please make sure you read our rules on connection, As further incidents of self-antagonism are guarenteed to result in harsher bans moving forward.

  19. This ban Has already expired, so I will be closing the appeal. That said, I have reviewed the relevant A-help and the language you used within it. I feel that the tone you used within the aforementioned admin conversation was in-fact overtly hostile, and just cause for the Day long ban. Repo did in-fact state that the mentioned issues in the Ahelp were in-character issues. and that they were not going to interfere, they did this twice, both times suggesting you approach the situation in character instead. They then clearly warned you in the second attempt to have you persue this in character, that you were begining to actively rules-lawyer them and that more information would be present at the end of the round, and that you could either play it out, or take a break. If you have any personal complaint to make about the banning admin or the handling of this appeal, you are welcome to make a staff complaint within the official channels located at : https://forum.spacestation14.io/index.php?/forum/37-staff-complaints/ Appeal denied.

  21. After looking into this ban, and discussing it with other members of staff. It seems the indefinite ban was placed mistakenly. The reason seems to be that the original ban was accidentally removed and hastily replaced. albeit without the member of staff realising the ban was initially a timed ban. As such i am lifting the ban effective immediately. You have our appologies for this unfortunate set of circumstances.
  22. If you're going to be flippant in your appeal responses after asking for proof, you can wait two weeks before re-appealing.
  23. Connecting Via a VPN results in a blocked connection because the datacenter itself is banned. If you attempt to log in without the VPN, You will not hit that ban. You can apply for a Datacenter Exemption in the Admin Messages section of the forums.
  24. Due to an overwhelming majority vote on this appeal, we the administration have decided to deny this appeal. Instead we will be upgrading the current ban into a Voucher-Ban. Some of the reasons cited in the administration's votes are as follows. 'Repeated notes and bans have clearly not improved this persons behaviour, while the initial reason of LOOC grudging is a bit hand-wavey to me. They have shown to either have no intent to change or are unable too, voucher um and let them prove to us they can play somewhere without causing issues." Admin - 1 "nonstop shitter behavior that despite clear warnings, bans and job bans still does not stop" admin - 2 A voucher ban can only be appealed with a voucher of good behaviour from another active and decently regarded space station 14 or 13 server, no sooner than than six months from now on august 6th, 2024. You should be sure to check that a server is even willing to provide a voucher before spending your time there, as we will not consider any appeal without one. Appeal denied, voucher ban upgrade applied.
