  1. Administrator consensus is to deny this appeal. You may reappeal in one (1) month. It is highly recommended you get a voucher of good behavior from another server to increase your chances of the next appeal being accepted.
  2. Hello there. Going through logs, I've noticed some interesting speech you used prior to being appeal banned. Could you provide context to why you said these? You've also mentioned playing with a friend prior to being appeal-banned. Could you provide us with the username of this friend of yours?
  3. May I know why you named yourself as 'The Wall Is Undefeated", a term that implies that women lose their 'sexual prowess' after a certain age?
  4. Administrator consensus is to accept your appeal. In its place, you will be given an appeal-only department ban for command. Please be noted that under our policies, the next ban will be a voucher ban with a minimum waiting time of six months to appeal. You are on thin ice, and we kindly hope you will maintain a good streak of behavior.
  5. Please do not metagrudge other players. It may not be explicitly said but we do keep an eye out whenever we receive reports in the relay.
  6. Regarding the third note mentioned, the admin who contacted you said the following: "Command has more responsibility and it held to a higher standard than other jobs". However, after taking note of this, there were at least two (2) incidences of you engaging in questionable behavior and subverting our rules as command. The first is the fourth note mentioned above. The second one was not noted but did raise eyebrows after I went through it. On 07/03/2023, you (as a CMO) used the communications console to announce a vote to 'abolish all clowns' and stated 'enjoy the free game hunting on clowns'. This led to at least one player being arrested for seemingly no reason. Chat logs are provided below: In addition to the above, another set of logs show that you using the communications console to invited danger, as shown below: The following logs appear to refute your statement that May we know your perspective on these events? In addition, how would we know if you would not do this again?
  7. Hello there, you've accumulated many notes in less than a month. Four notes demonstrates similar behavior. They are as follows: 17/02/2023 - You quit as a security officer for no real reason and refused to hand over your security gear. 21/02/2023 - As a HoS, you made an announcement authorizing security to perform 'beatdowns' to 'stop at nothing to find syndies', which led to a deathsquad being called. In an AHELP relay, you demonstrate seemingly oblivious behavior on why the deathsquad was called until the admin pointed out the obvious reason. 23/02/2023 - As a HoP, you tried to get the station code epsilon'd twice in a row, which led to being bwoinked by an admin. A particular message stuck out to me, where you mentioned that 'it's been the same pattern in lizards den is too do your job and have fun but as soon as it hits halfway, command starts dying and going full shitter' 02/03/2023 - During an admin event (approved after server vote), chemistry lost their dispensers and were instead forced to mix chemicals themselves. You, as a CMO, called for a strike after 20 minutes because medical 'didn't have anything to do without chemistry'. These notes seem to indicate that you have a tendency to subvert our policies on command/security whenever you feel things are either not going your way or whenever you are feeling bored. Could you provide us with your perspective?
  8. Major skill issue. Good luck.
  9. Not an proper admin, but I think Chief_Engineer is asking you to make an appeal with the SS14 account username PigGuy315, which is the SS14 account that you were banned from; not using PigGuy which appears to be an account you made specifically for this appeal.
  10. Interesting idea, though as Space Law is not implemented in LRP this might only be appropriate for MRP/HRP. A judge might suit those servers better compared to LRP given how chaotic and fast-paced LRP is compared to both MRP and HRP. But overall, I quite like the idea.
  11. Not an admin, but from what I hear, the WizDen admins are willing to accept Mining Station 14 vouchers. Parkstation might be a good place to try out as well, although due to recent events I am not sure how accepted it might be. You are not limited to SS14 as well, SS13 vouchers are accepted as well, from what I hear. Hopefully this helps. Might want to wait for an admin to weigh in themselves.
  12. In-game Username: CakeMaestor Discord username: CakeMaestor Characters you play: Cake M. Aestor (LRP), Paulo Navarro Toledano (MRP), Moons-Pale-Fire (MRP) How long have you been playing SS13 or SS14? As of 02/02/2023, I have logged in roughly 768 hours on SS14. Most of the hours is on LRP, although I do occasionally play on MRP. I have no time playing on SS13. How many hours are you available per day: It may change in the future. As it stands, I can be available at least 1-2 hours on weekdays and 3-4 hours on weekends. Days you are available on: Depends on my schedule. I am usually free on weekends, and I can make time on weekdays. Prior administration experience (SS13 experience recommended). Please also post a way for us to verify this: I have no prior administration experience beforehand. Have you been banned from our game servers or SS13 servers before? Was given a 10 ban once for spamming OOC sometime around mid-November (I think). Beyond that, no. This is the more essay-y part of the application; you should answer the following questions in detail, so we can get a better idea of how you'd approach adminning. What role do you think game admins serve on our servers? Game admins are there to maintain the health and well-being of the servers – both the game and its community. The primary method is to enforce the rules, which is much harder than it sounds for two reasons. Firstly, admin logs are messy: it is text-based and often cannot provide full context. Therefore, admins collect logs and witness testimony (via AHELPs or spectating in-person) to piece together a complete picture. Secondly, admins need to properly decide how to punish someone. It’s easy to apply a ban, but good game admins know this is a last resort, and punishments should be handled IC if possible. Many issues of ‘shittery’ are done because of incompetence rather than outright malice. Handling incidents, IC can warn against continuing certain activities, enhance RP, and even salvage a bad situation. Admins can also spice up rounds through ‘admeme’ events, which can help enhance RP and excite veteran players with more randomness and variability in an existing shift. Like enforcing rules, this is a fine line to maintain, not to introduce too much randomness that might derail the experience and make it the equivalent of NRP. How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the server? Not good. My experience in MRP is limited. From experience, it has virtually zero shitters thanks to the low population and whitelist. However, my perception of MRP is slightly hampered due to a few shifts where people explicitly mentioned remembering me from previous shifts despite the new-life rule in place. This was a while back, so the environment might have changed since then. The bulk of my grievances is reserved for LRP (WizDen Lizard). The obvious is directed towards ‘shitters,’ a relatively common occurrence. It’s obvious why shooting a clown for funsies due to ‘Barotrauma PTSD’ is not good RP. However, I think a good portion of the community, even respected frequents, are too mechanics-focused and ‘play to win .’ In an LRP server, this is somewhat understandable. However, many take this too far, treating it as a top-down action game. I think this facilitates behavior that ranges from mild – like OOC slang (wtf, lmfao, etc.) in IC, to infuriating – like metagaming & powergaming. Recently, egregious levels of metafriending or metacliquing seem to be more prevalent, such as the “Samuels Incident.” I believe all these detract from the RP experience and give the wrong impression to many outsiders, where ‘winning’ is the goal, not proper RPing or ‘having fun together.’ Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14? There are three reasons. Firstly, I love SS14, both LRP, and MRP. I won't be so harsh otherwise. I can see the potential in the game and the community, and I want to help. Many frequents have expressed disillusionment with the WizDen servers, and many outright stopped playing on them or at least permanently moved to WizDen Salamander (MRP). I don't blame them, I've had absolutely horrible shifts, some of them directly resulting in a permanent drain in my capacity to play certain roles like Captain or Head of Security. This is a downright shame, and I want to help regulate the servers (especially Lizard) to be less 'shittery' and more inviting and fun to play on. I've Secondly, I want to guide willing players down a more RP-friendly path. I’mI’m harsh against OOC behavior because I made many of these mistakes before when I was newer. Before, I’d often engaged in bad RP and NRP and displayed powergaming, metagaming, and even obnoxious behavior. I grew to regret many of these actions, in large part due to the admins using the AHELP relay to push me in the right direction, and I am very grateful for it. I won’twon’t be where I am today without them. I want to emulate their behavior and help promote RP more, in addition to helping with general questions about mechanics. Thirdly, I want to help with the bans & appeals process. With the expected rise in game population over time, there are bound to be banned from dealing more ban appeals to process. More staffing might be needed, and I want to help alleviate some of the strain. Forums have and are already hosting appeals in a state of limbo - those from 2 weeks to a month ago with no verdict decided. This is no fault of the admins; they are volunteers and often have other priorities. It’sIt’s simply a case of not enough people. In particular, I want to help dive through and review logs. As written above, logs diving is incredibly unfun and tedious for many due to how chaotic it is – based on what several administrators told me previously. I want to assist with the ‘‘dirty work’’ however I can to help speed up appeals. Thank you for your time, and thank you for reviewing my application.
  13. New (older) gimmick of mine: The Touring Musician Tired that the sad sacks on the station are too busy to cheer themselves up by visiting the bar (or wherever you are playing at)? Frustrated at the crewmates lack of interest in the arts? Dreaming of the day you'll finally stop being an indie nobody and be a globe-trotting superstar? What I just said must be a bit depressing and close-to-home for some people irl but you can circumvent that by roleplaying in game! It's simple. You, the charming musician, approach all the heads and ask them if they would like a private dept-based concert. If they agree, play a set of songs in their dept. Announce in radio/comms that you are having a station-wide tour. Leave with crowds of adoring fans. You can bring some uniforms to do theatrics like miming a robot and playing 80s synth tunes. Create some props like torches for the audience to use when playing some heart wrenching ballads. Invite the barkeep/chef/botanist/service worker to sell and dispense refreshments. Invite the mime, clown, or even PAI on the tour as opening acts. Of course, this RP is heavily dependent on the heads actually being fun and not just focusing on their job (or in sec's case, no because of 'safety' and cos' they are the fun police). Really, don't expect to get approval from all heads. More than half is already good enough to be honest. Once you are a superstar, you can probably sell character-themed merch too. Maybe even some bathwater for 1000 spacebucks, who knows.
  14. It's well worth checking out, and years of community input has made it safer than ever to download. There are more servers that you might indulge in (English-wise) too, so there's that.
  15. I've seen apology tweets with more sincerity and thought put out than whatever this is lmao.
  16. We all know LRP is a hellhole where people powergame, metagame, and NRP (of course I'm exagerrating). Lets think up of some good RPing ideas for people to do so the tiders don't self-antag and instead do positive stuff. Or maybe I'll just post my random ideas here if no one checks the thread out, who knows. I'll start with one idea of mine: the perma-prisoner rehabilitator. Suitable for anyone with spare time but especially good for passengers, entertainment workers (musician, clown, boxer, etc.), and lawyers. The gist is that once some sad sack of a syndicate agent/shitter is locked up in perma, you (as a non-syndicate) approach either HoS or warden asking them for permission to help prisoners start with a rehabilitation program and give them a variety of activities to do. For example, the musician can give them several lessons in music and musical theatrics and lend them several instruments and outfits. If a prisoner is a rough-around-the-edges personality, offer him a rock guitar and scrappy clothes to be a punk rocker to channel his anger. Or if the prisoner is a sensitive soul regretful of past actions, give him am acoustic guitar and nice clothes and let him be a melancholic folk artist. It works similarly with the other roles I mentioned: boxers can train them to be professional boxers via workouts, clowns/mimes can cheer them up and teach them comedy, lawyers and librarians can offer educational services, psychiatrists can offer them psychiatric treatment - which with a bit of improv can expand on the syndie's RP character (maybe emotional trauma, ego, etc.), and reporters can report on their life and maybe help co-write a memoir. There are many benefits to this roleplay. Obviously, the RPers have things to do - especially the perma prisoners. But I think if done right, a RP like this can help the perma prisoners genuinely learn from their mistakes and evade a ban from the admins. Either way, I think a RP like this can foster a better, healthy environment not just for sec and the service workers, but for everyone in the server as well. If you guys have any other ideas, share them below. I'd like to add more ideas in the future. Dasvidanya.
