  1. Application accepted, please check your discord for instructions on how to proceed. Good luck during your trial period and welcome to the admin team!
  2. It does look like that's what happened, I've accepted this ban appeal so you should be able to connect now
  3. In your example, the space ninja would have no obligation to work with revs
  4. Team antagonists are required to work with members of their team, but not any other antagonists. No other antagonists are required to work with any other antagonists. As long as it does not conflict with their specific rules, team antagonists are free to choose to cooperate with antagonists not in their team, and other antagonists are free to choose to cooperate with other antagonists. The requirement that this cooperation not violate the antagonist's specific rules means that, for example, team antagonists cannot cooperate with an antagonist to the detriment of their team.
  5. This ban was reduced by the banning admin. Wizard's Den Banning Policy allows banning admins to process appeals of their own bans in certain situations. One of the requirements for processing your own appeal is that the ban be within ban guidelines. A 3 day ban is within the ban guidelines for a first offense of participating in a revolution. If you believe the ban was the result of bias, or if you dispute any facts that led to the ban, including the claim that you participated in a revolution, you can appeal your 3 day ban by creating a new appeal. If you decide to appeal your 3 day ban, you can copy this appeal and update the ban length as long as the "events leading to the ban" and "reason the ban should be removed" are both still accurate for the 3 day ban. If they are not accurate and you'd like to appeal the 3 day ban, please rewrite them so that they are accurate. Wizard's Den makes round replays available. The replay from the relevant round can be downloaded at: https://cdn.centcomm.spacestation14.com/replays/lizard/2023/10/16/lizard-2023_10_16-14_46-round_35746.zip. 8. Heads other than the Head of Security should not try to do security's job unless the station is desperately lacking security and officers can't be promoted from members of the crew in a reasonable time. Heads other than the Head of Security should not try to acquire any security gear that they do not spawn with on their person, or in their office without an in character justification. They can however acquire cuffs and/or sunglasses with permission from the Head of Security. The gear Heads other than the Head of Security get is for their own protection. They are not obligated to pursue and detain criminals, and they should not abandon their duties to do so. Examples of IC justifications The Head of Personnel wants sec-huds to more efficiently do their job. A head was almost killed from an assassination attempt. There is a grave danger to the station, or to the heads themselves from things such as Nuclear Operatives or Revolutionaries.
  9. The admin team has decided to grant you an exemption, you should now be able to use a VPN
  10. What you're suggesting is possible from a technical perspective. There are multiple ways we could allow you to connect while still attempting to prevent the other player from connecting which we considered while discussing your last appeal. The problem with all of the methods we considered is that each would make it easier for the banned player to evade their ban. We've made accommodations for players hitting other bans in the past, but it's much rarer for this to happen when the other player has attempted to evade their ban. Incase you're curious about one of the issues with your proposed solution, it would require us to manually monitor connections from your IP address, which is a significant workload that's unreasonable to place on game admins. The workload would only become more significant when you consider that, for fairness, we'd need to be willing to do the same for other players in the same situation, potentially resulting in game admins having to regularly manually check many different IPs for ban evasion. We do have better options than the one you proposed, but as I said earlier, unfortunately they have their own issues. I'm glad you like the game, and I'm sorry that you're unable to play on Wizard's Den servers, but hopefully you're not in the same situation on other Space Station 14 servers. Our bans on the other player don't apply on any servers other than Wizard's Den servers, so you might be able to find another that you enjoy to play on. Just to be clear about your Wizard's Den ban status to anyone else reading this appeal, you and your account remain unbanned, but unfortunately it is likely that you will continue to hit the other player's ban when attempting to connect to Wizard's Den servers
  11. Sorry for the delay, have you been able to play on any other servers for a significant amount of time?
  12. The clarification has been rewritten to remove all special restrictions from PDA searches. The prior version of the clarification is quoted below for record keeping, but the quoted version is no longer in effect.
  13. Someone else is handling the processing of this appeal itself, but you may want to include an explanation of what specifically led you to believe that this ban was targeted, spiteful, and the result of a personal grudge. If something other than the mere fact you were banned resulted in this belief, feel free to make a staff complaint after this appeal is processed, regardless of the outcome of this appeal. If it is only the fact that a ban was placed that led to this belief, you can still make a staff complaint as long as the appeal is accepted.
  14. Thank you for applying. We've decided to not accept this application, but you're free to apply again in the future.
  15. it replaced the old poll. Through witchcraft, daemon is able to edit old posts no matter how old they are. I need to fix that but I don't want to interrupt the duck adventure so that's a job for future me
  16. Sorry for the delay, unfortunately you don't meet our current minimum requirements for adminship. The issues I've noticed are: You only have 33 hours overall playtime on Wizard's Den. We require 100 hours minimum, but recommend 150 if you don't have significant experience on another SS13 or SS14 server. You received a 12 hour ban about a day after making this application. We require that candidates not have any game or role bans in the last 2 months. Feel free to reapply once you've met the requirements
  17. Is Leander their SS14 username? That account isn't whitelisted on WizDen Salamander and has next to no recorded playtime. The playtime stat might be inaccurate if they primarily played over a year ago, and to be fair, they don't claim to have significant WizDen playtime, but it's not super meaningful for someone to say that they aren't banned with the amount of playtime that account has recorded in the last year. That already calls into question the accuracy or significance of around half of what they've said in their vouch for you, and we're unlikely to consider a voucher from nyano due to their dehubbing. Unless I'm mistaken about something, like what their username is, that boils this down to a voucher from an admin of delta and frontier, for an admin of frontier. That's not to say that a voucher from an admin of two server isn't sufficient to allow an appeal to be considered by the admin team, I just want to make sure that you're aware of how it's likely to be viewed internally, and give you the opportunity to address anything you'd like related to what I've said. To be clear, I also don't blame you for not knowing any of this, you obviously don't have any way to check someone's WizDen's whitelist status or playtime stats. Moving on to your admin status on frontier, I will note that I do believe we've maintained bans for members of the admin team of another server in the past. That's not to say that admin status on another server is meaningless, but I again want to make sure that you're aware of how the information will be considered by the admin team. I don't want someone to have wrongly set an expectation for you that you'd be guaranteed an accepted appeal when in reality, even an admin of another server with a voucher is not guaranteed an accepted appeal. I'm not familiar with the timeline of your adminship on frontier, so some of this may not be relevant, and I don't think that not having shared every one of these details is necessarily an indicator of dishonesty, or that they wouldn't have still chosen to make you an admin had they known about it, but which, if any, of these details about your history on WizDen was frontier aware of at the time of your ban, and which was Leander aware of at the time of giving you a voucher? Your most recent ban was an appeal ban because it was your 3rd ban in the last 6 months Your second ban, the one that resulted in the command ban because of your involvement in a mutiny as a member of command, happened only a few weeks before your 3rd Unrelated to any bans, you had been warned to not start cults just 4 days before your 3rd ban Your 3rd ban was placed when you had 124hrs of overall playtime You did not preemptively ahelp about the situation resulting in your 3rd ban, you were ahelped and asked about why you were self-antagging, and eventually said "So i mean if its a ban, or a killsign over me the next round, ill take it" Despite saying that you'd take the ban, you attempted to evade it about a week later Again, I wouldn't personally necessarily consider it dishonest for you to not have shared every one of those details with frontier when applying for admin, or when requesting your voucher, but a few of those details are fairly significant so I'm curious which they were and weren't aware of
  18. Due to your attempt to evade your ban, you are banned indefinitely. You may appeal your ban, but only at least 6 months after your last ban evasion attempt, and only with a voucher of good behavior from another SS13/SS14 server. A voucher of good behavior should be obtained from a well-known or decently active SS13/SS14 server. If it is a mainstream server, we recommend using that server's admin-help to ask for a voucher from one of the administrators explaining that you are trying to appeal a ban on SS14's Wizard's Den and want to show you have been a problem-free player during your playtime on the server. A voucher should be indicative of at least a few months of play. If the voucher is not from a mainstream server, let us know and we will figure out a way to verify it.
  19. It kind of looks like you made this account to attempt to evade your ban considering you first attempted to try to connect with it over 9 months before making this appeal. In cases of ban evasion, we require a voucher of good behavior. The post after this one will have more information about appeal requirements for ban evasion
  20. Completing processing now due to the lack of a response. This complaint is being accepted based on the determination by the appeals process that the time was excessive. Findings The wording used in the ahelp and in the ban message was reasonable. It is unclear what part of the ahelp the complainant believed to be inappropriate. No part of the ahelp or ban message appear to be inappropriate, and it's unclear why the complainant believed either to be inappropriate. The ahelp made it sufficiently clear that continuing the behavior would result in a game ban. The ahelp unambiguously instructs the complainant to "chill on the sec griefing" and to "find some more creative gameplay with clown that doesnt involve stealing secs shit or slipping thim continuously". Admins should generally not use ahelp to instruct a player to do something which is optional, so it is unreasonable to expect admins to either include a warning with each instruction that disregarding it will result in a ban or to have to tell someone the same thing multiple times before it can be considered a warning. Players regularly interpret instructions from admins in ahelp as something that will result in a ban if disregarded. There appears to be no strong reason in this case for the instruction to have been interpreted as optional by the complainant. A ban is the reasonable next escalation from a warning. It was reasonable for the complainant to have been banned, but not for the duration which they were banned for. The ban appeal process determined that a ban was justified in this case. On reviewing the replay, a belief by Repo that the complainant had disregarded Repo's instructions appears to be reasonable. Throughout the 10 minutes after the complainant is revived, it is reasonable to conclude that their focus remains on interacting with security negatively and acquiring bananas to continue to slip security specifically. The ban appeal process determined that the ban length was excessive in this case. Repo was contacted during the appeal process about the length of the ban and has acknowledged that the length was excessive. Resulting Actions There were no actions as a direct result of the complaint. The contact about the ban length occurred during the appeals process, prior to the beginning of the evaluation of this complaint.
  21. this is not a forum for medical advice
  22. Application accepted, please check your discord for instructions on how to proceed. Good luck during your trial period and welcome to the admin team!
  23. An application from you was rejected a few days ago. While we have no defined waiting period before applying again, it is extremely unlikely that there'd be a different result in the short amount of time that has passed. I'd recommend waiting at least a month before reapplying after a rejected application to have it considered, with a good guideline likely being at least 2-3 months to increase the chances of a different outcome.
  24. If you're unable to play without a VPN, please create a thread in Admin Message requesting an exemption
