  1. Ban reason: [Racism, repeated use of the N-Word] Length of ban: [] Events leading to the ban: I was saying the N-word on SS-14, it wasn't to anyone or anyone I can recall. Reason the ban should be removed: [ Dear SS-14, I am writing to appeal my recent account suspension due to my regrettable and unacceptable behavior involving racism. I fully acknowledge and accept responsibility for my actions, and I am deeply remorseful for the harm and offense I have caused. First and foremost, I want to express my sincere apologies to the community, to those directly affected by my words, and to the platform as a whole. My actions were inexcusable and do not reflect my true beliefs or values. I understand that racism has no place in any community, online or offline, and I am committed to educating myself and working towards becoming a better and more respectful individual. I want to assure you that this incident has been a profound wake-up call for me. I have taken the time to reflect on my behavior, to understand the impact of my words, and to educate myself about the harmful effects of racism. I now recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive and respectful environment in online communities, and I am determined to contribute positively to achieving that goal. To demonstrate my commitment to change, I am willing to undergo any necessary training or counseling to address the underlying issues that led to my racist behavior. Additionally, I am more than willing to comply with any conditions or restrictions imposed on my account as part of the reinstatement process. I understand that trust is something that must be earned, and I do not expect my account to be reinstated immediately. However, I humbly request the opportunity to demonstrate through my actions and behavior that I am genuinely remorseful and committed to positive change. Once again, I offer my sincerest apologies for my actions, and I thank you for considering my appeal. I am hopeful for the chance to prove that I can be a responsible and respectful member of the community once more. Thank you for your time and understanding. Sincerely, asfsGsdrfgSDG ]

  2. Dear asfsGsdrfgSDG, Thank you for submitting your appeal regarding the ban from SS-14 for the use of racially offensive language. After careful consideration, we must inform you that your appeal has been denied. The primary reason for this decision is that your appeal appears to have been generated by an artificial intelligence (AI) system. We require genuine, personally written appeals to fully understand and evaluate the remorse and commitment to change of the individuals involved. Authenticity in the appeals process is crucial to ensure sincerity and a true understanding of the impact of one’s actions. An AI-generated letter lacks the personal accountability and reflection necessary for the consideration of ban reversal in serious matters such as this. Furthermore, as a point of clarity, this response to your appeal is also AI-generated, demonstrating the use of technology in managing communications. However, decisions like these are overseen by human moderators to maintain the integrity and values of our community. We encourage genuine and personal engagement with the appeals process. Should you wish to submit a new appeal written personally by you, it will be reconsidered accordingly. You may appeal again in 1 month. Sincerely, The SS-14 Moderation Team

  3. Ban reason: saying "Allah Akbar" after watching another nukie microbomb implanter to kill someone*" ------------ *(to be of note i was the nukie that blew himself up) Length of ban: Not stated. Events leading to the ban: I just said Allah Akbar after blowing myself up. At the time I had friends that would expect and encourage this kind of humor. I was talking with one of them at the time and they said I should blow myself up and say that after. Honestly, this ban has given me perspective outside of the echo chamber I have been forced into and I would like to thank you guys for that. I took a week to consider my options before I cut them out of my life. Reason the ban should be removed: I have removed the influence from my life that pushed me to make that kind of joke. It was not something that I should have ever written.

  4. This has been put to an admin discussion and vote of which we have come to the consensus to issue a voucher requirement for further appeals. The reasons provided in the discussion for this decision were the following: - History of frequent issues - Quantity and recency of past bans You may appeal your ban, but only at least 6 months after your last ban, and only with a voucher of good behavior from another SS13/SS14 server. A voucher of good behavior should be obtained from a well-known or decently active SS13/SS14 server. If it is a mainstream server, we recommend using that server's admin-help to ask for a voucher from one of the administrators explaining that you are trying to appeal a ban on SS14's Wizard's Den and want to show you have been a problem-free player during your playtime on the server. A voucher should be indicative of at least a few months of play. If the voucher is not from a mainstream server, let us know and we will figure out a way to verify it. Appeal Denied - Voucher must be provided on any future re-appeal.

  5. Role(s): All Command roles Length of ban: 14 days Events leading to the ban: (I was on edibles during the time of the ban) I had rolled captain as my main moth "John Moth" and I will admit I am very much not a serious player ( I like to do gimmicks such as "hosting a boxing tournament for AA" or stuff like that) So I started out doing my usual captain duties, delivering gold to sci, the money to cargo and pinpointer to HoS etc etc... sometime into the shift, someone had said over commons "Captain law 2: Kill everyone" I thought that was funny but obviously im not gonna kill anyone, so I grabbed a pair of boxing gloves and started just randomly boxing people, THIS is by all means shitter behaviour and I get giving a warning for that or even like a 24 hour ban , I had admitted that, yes I was in the wrong I also announced banning gravity (never did anything with the grav gen). Reason the ban should be removed: when I was bwoinked to be told about my ban I had asked how long it would be; 7 days, okay, thats fine, I mean I dont think I did anything obscenely wrong I did make a mildly sexual comment which wasnt cool and obviously I take responsibility for that; BUT upon being told about the 7 days instead of arguing and fighting I simply accepted it, the trialmin then proceeded to note my "unphased" demeanor towards the ban they were giving me, and for that reason alone they doubled the length of the ban, which in my opinion is very much power trippy and overstepping, I didnt throw a tantrum, I didnt whine or swear, I was graceful in accepting my ban, and for that it was doubled!? I believe that it should at least be reduced back to the original length or removed alltogether as what I did wasnt even that serious.

  6. These are examples of information that do not suggest a revolution: • A crewmember was caught carrying a flash and a pair of sunglasses. • Hearing a flash being used. Flash usage or possession does not immediately indicate subversive behavior. While these actions may draw suspicion to a regular crewmember, it is at most possession of restricted gear stolen from the security department. The flash may be confiscated should the crew member have no justifiable reason for possession, such as borg construction. These are examples of evidence that can be used to suspect a revolution: • Witnessing or hearing a report of revolutionary conversion (getting flashed and falling over for a few seconds). • A department head getting targeted, either assault or the head's death. A report of conversion from a reliable source (security or command) is sufficient grounds for security to suspect a revolution, and begin preparations to confirm the threat, such as ordering mindshields and attempting to mindshield suspects. Crew attempting to subvert command/security may be mindshielded. These are examples of evidence that can be used to identify and/or confirm a revolution: • Deconverting a revolutionary using a mindshield implant. The successful deconversion of a suspected revolutionary is irrefutable evidence that both confirms the presence of subversive elements on the station and allows security to neutralize the threat, such as mass mindshielding and allowing crew to attain flash resistant gear. It is important to note that Security is free to execute confirmed (through mindshielding) Head Revolutionaries as they see fit.

  7. it's "case in point" also the other points are just objectively wrong but I can't block gobbledygook memers on forums like I can on Discord. I want to reread them and actually have a discussion I really do but the inherent ancient spirit within that doesn't want me to throw my time away is ending this sentence

  8. Ban Reason: ["Banned for Mass self-antag, blowing up sec with makeshift bombs to free people, avoiding ahelp"] Length Of Ban: [14,400 minutes] Events Leading To The Ban: [Influences Behind The Incident: Dealing with the very tail end of a sickness my family's been experiencing for a while, I found myself once again terribly needing to "Evacuate" in the bathroom before the bombing incident. Additionally dealing with a water deprived headache due to the previous "evacuations", and still being quite a fresh player to the game, (only playing consistently just recently) I had 2 main factors besides the formerly mentioned that influenced me to do it: I had people watching me, A person as smile, and a PAI which someone had chosen. I couldnt back down for some foggy headed reasoning(due to the sickness) that I couldnt disapoint them. I also hate sec, ive never experienced a patient or mature sec during arrests or imprisonment in my time in the game. Even at round start, "shoot now, asks questions after 14 minutes of being detained later" has been the moto for even minor infractions. It could be interpreted as violations of the rules in a lot of the cases ive experienced. I wanted to free those who felt similar to me about their particular sentence. Though the second reason was why i wanted to initially break them out (by safely destroying 2 glass walls). At MOST destorying only the intended glass and only repairably(a quick welding torch) damaging other cells/people nicked by the first charge that goes off. Thus, the 3 reasons above were why it was caused, and are also what influenced me to the ban reason The damage that I remember with certainty: the 1 tile window besides HOS door destroyed completely, people were injured but not crit(unconfirmed but more probable then firebombs killing a fully geared up sec with time to react after first fire bomb goes off) and 2 prison cells completely destroyed of windows and doors. The ahelp: Main reason for "avoidance" is stated at the start but I additionally also immediately took a shower: I joined back after finishing cleaning up the "main reason" but my autistic needs have me needing to feel clean so I hopped in. (ahelp chatlog=proof if needed, I simply stood there. afk.). I noticed ahelp after the shower. Additional and relevant information -made an effort that no one was game removed, (fire bombs are to weak to kill instantly) -had planned and done no permanent damage(reasonably unrepairable damage) aside from 2 prison cells, -No specific person was the target of this, -It was my specific character quirk to not like security, -I have a style of play which over indulges in bits on occasions -This point might hold little weight depending on the reviewer, but I wished for it to be an event in good fun. Reason the ban should be removed: [I definitely wont be dealing with this sickness after today, all of it is out of my system. I have made the connection that extreme tomfoolery is only tomfoolery to me, and a nuisance to everyone else. This was a infraction that hurt the playerbase in an unfun way, self antagging in this way was a violation of the rules and the trust of the community. An apology cant fix it. but. I can hope that I havent done enough to no longer be trusted anymore. As for the ahelp, there is nothing I could do. I have given the rules a new relooking. twice in fact. and memorized down (mostly by accident) the jist of the ones pertaining to my ban, having a firmer, permanent impression of the others. This game has got me in its clutches, id like to play it again asap. please and thank you. please.]

  9. I've heard a few times now that 'listening to the community is bad game design.' Sense the last post was locked before I could comment on that, I will do that here. Software design is the design of the tool for the user. Devs, when doing their job properly, live in service of the community that use their tools. If the devs feel that it's their job to dictate to the community what the community should want, especially in a Free Software project, they really should stop being devs and go find something else to do. This is a difficult enough mindset to fight in 'proprietary land.' But, as was noted in the previous post, at least there people can vote with their wallets and cause a project or company that ignores its community to go bankrupt if a critical mass doesn't like the direction of the project. Sadly, Free Software projects doesn't give the users that ability to defend themselves from the whims of the devs. The main saving grace that Free Software has that proprietary doesn't is forking. People faced a similar situation with GNOME 3. Everyone hated GNOME 3. They tried reasoning with the devs. They tried begging the devs. They tried bending GNOME 3 over backwards with community made extensions to try to add back in functionality that the wayward devs of GNOME 3 kept stripping out. Finally, when the devs of GNOME 3 proved totally not open to reason, they forked the project into MATE. Major distros that used to use GNOME 3 eventually dropped it for other options because of how badly it sucks. It became the laughing stock of graphic desktops; all because it refused to fallow user design. I had it out with them for some time in their forums before I eventually switched to KDE Plasma to finally get away from the insanity of a project that absolutely refused to listen to its users. I really don't see a game as any different than a tool or any other project in that regard.
