SS14 account username: gunker123 Ban reason: not the correct age to play Date of ban: 3/3/23 Events leading to the ban: I was wrongfully jailed in game, i told them repeatedly but they wouldnt listen, i was than banned after joking to an admin that i was one year older than he inferred that I was. Reason the ban should be removed: This admin with the world "Engineer" in his name, I can't remember it completely, fully and blantantly abused his power to ban people. I made a joke which i thought was aloud, instead I am punished for it. He did not take any action to accumulate information on if I were serious or not about my age, he also implied that I was actually 13, meaning he assumed I was, and would have been okay with it if I hadn't even mentioned it. This is a power thirsty admin who in the eyes of the people, is not for the people, but for himself and full control over the people.

Events leading to the ban: I ahelped and asked if I could be banned for three days. This was supposed to be a Christmas present to my little brother and I just never finished it and kept putting it off. Hi, I was playing Jaquin Goodfisher in the round before you were banned. You killed me with zero escalation. You stopped me and asked what I was doing, where I was going, and what my job was. While we were talking, you hit me with your stun baton, and while I was down you continued to hit me until the battery died. After the battery died, you continued hitting me. All while I was asking "What is going on? Why are you doing this?" You then pulled out a Predator and shot me to death. In this entire encounter I had not taken a step, had not engaged harm mode, had not even put anything into my hands. When the detective walked up, you told the detective I shot at you and my "aim was shit." When you later died, you said, "wow look at all the mad little ghosts." When someone told you that your behavior was bannable, you said "someone doesn't care." I don't think you have any intention of participating in the community in an appropriate fashion. The fact that you are a new player, admitting you do not know the controls or mechanics, and yet you chose to join Security and use violence without any form of reasonable escalation shows that you only want to ruin the experiences of others. Even your username is a testament to just how little you actually care about your representation within the community. I think you are a malicious player, a troll, and generally a disdainful person. I am glad that you were banned permanently. If you somehow managed to get a voucher from another server, I wouldn't peanut post on your appeal, but given what you have done here I really doubt that will ever happen. Hello, Although Nyano is separate from WizDen, they are one of WizDen's partnered servers. As such Wizden's and Nyano's admins share some data about their more "problematic" players. I have already seen people who were banned on WizDen's get automatically banned from Nyano with the reason being in relation to Wizard. I would also like to add that the admins of Nyano definitely talked about your case while it was being handeled on WizDen and slandered you in admin chat which I do not agree on, in terms of transparency or honesty. It also appears you made a well written appeal explaining your POV and you're only recieving a toxic response as well as admins avoiding the real issue of asking about OOC and getting banned for an assumed political opinion. I do not believe you are trans-ist but that you were instead genuilnely worried about the captain breaking other roleplayer's immersion with their political statement. Kindly,

The admin team takes metacomming very seriously as it can have a significant negative impact on the game for other players. While you're certainly free to log off when you see people playing who you don't want to play in a round with, please also ahelp in the future if your suspicions are based on something. While it may be tempting to think that someone else may report or catch it, unfortunately many people share that idea which can result in things being missed. I think a lot of people avoid ahelping things because they don't want to waste admin time with duplicate reports or reporting someone who might be an antag. It is very easy for admins to do things like handle duplicate reports or check antag status. Personally I'd rather get 10 reports of the same thing than have to rely on seeing it myself, and checking antag status takes seconds. If you're ever in doubt, feel free to ahelp and feel free to ask if you should ahelp similar situations in the future.

bumping isn't necessary. They move and lock threads when they're resolved. They process ban appeals in batches whenever the admins have time to discuss them, so it can take 1-2 weeks sometimes for them to be processed.

Account Username: Rodrieguez Hasslehoff Ban Reason: Breach of Zero Tolerance Rule #2 by saying "Are you done fingering yourself bud?" Date of ban: 2023-01-15 Length of ban: Appeal Only Events leading to the ban: I started off the round as syndicate, my roles were to make sure two people successfully completed their tasks, and to see that I got on to the escape shuttle unrestrained. So, all I could do was goof off since the round had just started. I walked from the assistant spawn, over to the engineering entrance, and witnessed a clown and another assistant break into engineering to steal gloves and goggles before running off. I didn't stop them because I am syndie, but after they left and engineers walked into the room, I entered it too. I looked at one of the engineers names, and it read Macro Alfie. I made a joke saying "Macro Alfie, more like Micro Alfie." Which was enough for him and another buddy to chase me out of engineering. Chasing me out was fine, but then they kept following me, and started wide swinging crowbars at me. Macro and his friend never said a word to each other, but they both agreed to hunt me down and beat me bad. Only reason I didn't go into crit was because the warden Jamie Hawkins came around the corner. Jamie asked what's going on here, and I had quickly responded that they are jumping me over a joke. Engineers never said anything and left, and then Jamie the warden looked at me and said "You were mugging them." I said of how that makes no sense and he can search me, but he refused to, and just started arresting me, another passenger pulled me away because they had witnessed it and were coming to my defense saying I didn't rob the engineers. Jamie the warden then arrested the other passenger too, and got us both into sec. Jamie at the time also mis-gendered the passenger who was clearly female on purpose, and ignored them when they kept correcting him on several occasions. While I was in security, the detective and a lawyer were listening to my story and said that I was clearly just attacked for no reason. Jamie refused to believe so and lied saying he saw me physically break into engineering, and that I was robbing the engineers too. I said about how this is bias'd and of how he just wants to arrest me to just arrest someone, but Jamie of course just ignored me. The detective and lawyer said that I had already served my time anyways for petty theft and minor assault. However, the warden just kept making up new info, and started to threaten the detective and lawyer with his power saying how he has the final say in things. This was just a clear power trip on his behalf, and he was upset that others were being reasonable rather then agreeing with him just because he's security. After being held in security for 10-15minutes since the start of the round for doing absolutely nothing then just saying a name to an engineer, the warden was still trying his hardest to put me in a cell, and just overall making sure he can hold me longer because he checked me bag 3 times since he held me. I was cuffed the entire time. It was then I was fed up and said "Are you done fingering yourself bud?" because in my eyes he had been power tripping since he saw me. I was just fed up with him, and I said it as an insult, not as a sexual advance in any way, or as a sexual threat either. It was just an insult. Reason the ban should be removed: I think this ban should be removed, for when Jamie instantly said "That's a sexual reference, perma, you did a sexual reference." I apologized and clarified that it wasn't meant in any sexual manner, but it was just an insult. The detective even said of how, it's clear that in this case it was just an insult, and that perma seems harsh. I understand I shouldn't have said it now, and I won't say anything in the future that can be interpreted as such. Also, Jamie was just so hard focused on making sure that I got into perma, that he completely ignored the detectives warnings saying someone is entering the armoury. Jamie just responded with "I don't care", and shortly the entire armoury was completely emptied. Jamie had also arrested the detective and the lawyer. He arrested the lawyer because the lawyer kept saying this was unjust to perma me over an insult taken the wrong way, and that I need a legal council first so I can create my apology to him. Jamie was annoyed that he kept standing in the perma entrance (Not door that leads inside perma, but perma entrance.) and so he baton'd and cuffed the lawyer. Jamie also then baton'd and cuffed the detective for he was standing there too saying this is way too far. I once again apologize for my actions, but it seems like the warden was just playing very hard, and did not like when anybody questioned him, or was near him, not even his own security could talk to him without him threatening arrest.

If you get banned from every single English-speaking servers, the only way to earn your voucher is by good behavior in an SS13 server. That's right, your punishment is BYOND salvation.

Stealth already reviewed their take on the rules for this, but I'm not so classy to cite a specific rule in this case with how aggressive you're being. So here, Rule 0 - if you're going to get SMGs unprompted as a non-antagonist cargo worker then you'll be dealt with. Stealth took responsibility for that ruling affecting the outcome of the round and as far as I can tell, between his spelling it out and your refusal to accept it, means it's pretty much going to stick. You were given multiple chances to provide a barebones reason for why you were opening a secured crate of automatic weaponry and beyond stating, "it was red alert", you've yet to provide one. As such, I am not entertaining the opportunity further. With how flippant you have been between the quoted ahelp and throughout this thread, you will receive neither. Appeal denied, you may appeal again in 6 months (April 26th, 2023) and you may only appeal with a voucher of good behavior from another SS13/SS14 server.

I fail to see how your characters skin color matters literally at all in relation to anything else. I find it really revealing that you conveniently do not remember saying these things to an admin, but you DO remember that your character was black.

I've been here and there around both communities for a while, lurking mostly. I do a lot of art about Space Station related things, developing my art as my time here continues. A few years, really, but not too focused on the game. How many hours are you available per day: 2-3 hours usually, for gaming- all other is reserved for offline time for selfcare. Days you are available on: Generally weekends I'm mostly always free, not so much on the week days themselves. Prior administration experience (SS13 experience recommended). Please also post a way for us to verify this: I do not have all that experience with SS13 administration other than messing around with my own solo server's admin tools to play with items. It's a new experience really, but I'm rather patient when working with difficult individuals! Have you been banned from our game servers or SS13 servers before? I have not been banned or administratively punished in any way within the SS14 community, I don't take chances that could get me into trouble. In SS13, I was banned from Yogs permanently about 3-4 years ago during my powergame phase since I would abuse xenoling and get it within 15 minutes of the round and hunt antagonists on the station out of boredom. I've since then learned that it's not acceptable to do that, and it's a lot better for both OOC and IC to leave most things like that alone and not involve yourself in the spotlight like that, especially playing traitor or security. What do you think game admins serve on our servers? They are a swift response to a problem on the server, whether it be a technical issue that has to be manually fixed or reset, or to where a troublesome player is causing discord for other players, contributing nothing to the round other than negativity in the form of one way or another- dealing with those kinds of malicious people. How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the server? It'd be nice if more people took things a little more seriously or put more effort into the server's rounds. It's always nice to have an HRP moment only to have it ruined by the guy saying immediately after being cloned "lol <person> is 100% a traitor they killed me and spaced me" HRP moments within the server is amazing, though. There's a handful of people that catch on and take the hint and tag along with the setting of RP, even if there's really no technical / mechanical reason behind it. Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14? I'm not exactly the best experienced within these kinds of matters, but I want to see this strive and be apart of it to help it succeed. It's a new experience, for sure, but a welcome one if it extends my hand to helping others and also becoming more involved in the community!

I've been playing 14 for a month, and rather consistently, usually at least one or two rounds a day, more when I have the time. I think my total playtime is somewhere at 60-70 hours, but I'll definitely rack up more. How many hours are you available per day: This varies due to the nature of my job, but I usually have a good six hours or more in the evening where I'd be available on the weekdays, and I'm available all day during weekends. Days you are available on: Pretty much every day, aside from the times in the day when I'm working. But even then since I work from home some days, I can manage some time then for things. Have you ever been banned from our server or SS13 servers before: No. Prior administration experience: Administering games? None. I however, am a sysadmin for the company I work for, and on top of maintaining the backend hardware and servers, and sourcing hardware and the like, I take care of issues and requests directly from our employees whenever they have technical issues. I'm a customer service agent with more responsibility I guess. At least that's what it feels like. Don't know if this will be useful for administration here, but I'm quite used to dealing with unruly people and their grievances. Usually they just yell at us in IT or complain that their hardware is shit though, we don't really hear about the disputes they have with one another. What role do you think game admins serve on our servers: Administrators are the face of the game. They're the people that new and old players look to for advice, or to handle issues that arise. There's a delicate, thin line they have to walk that can severely affect the server's reputation. The way they handle issues and situations that arise can set an image, good or bad, set a tone for what they will think and feel about the rest of the staff or the server itself. A bad interaction can lead to someone resenting admins, disregarding the rules, and causing the other members of the team undue stress from the flak they get as a result of this. It's important to deal with each issue as professionally as possible. Aside from that there's the actual administration aspect to adminning. Enforcing the rules. Maintaining servers. mending issues and responding to ahelps, the usual, expected, surface level tasks we see. However I'm sure there's other tasks they have to handle that we don't see and I don't know about. How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the server: I've largely had a good time with it. I've seen some great players, who try their best to actually have a scenario play out, or make fun, and interesting events as a response to the current situation of the station. I don't think every traitor treats their role like a deathmatch and blasts their way to victory. Some try to talk or go about it in interesting ways -- of course, I have certainly seen bad/no roleplay, and terrible T's. But I do think that the good largely outweighs the bad. I feel like there's a great potential for this to grow into something better. Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14: I honestly just want to help out. Not even necessarily as a game admin, but just with whatever I can. As a long time fan of 13, I'm really glad to see people making an honest effort to give it a new life in 14. I've had a hard time getting back into playing 13 after my old server went down, but I've had too many fond memories, and have looked for the means to get back into it since. Since I started playtesting, I've been kind of blown away with what's been done here, despite al the things yet undone. Though I can't code yet or contribute in that regard, I want to help further the development of this along however I can. Even if it's just doing things like I normally do at my real job. I initially took this down after some hesitation, but after talking about it a bit more, I think I'll put it back up and see where it goes.

S14 account: Toesty Character name: John Badooze When was the ban: 12/19/2021 around 12AM Server you were playing on when banned Lizard US West Your side of the story: I joined the already running game as a assitant. First thing i did was stealing the hops pda and went into the sec gun room and got myself equipped. The hos and captain saw me so i gunned them down and i think i killed another innocent sec guy. So i opened the doors and let people in to equip etc. I wanted to clone the captain and started dragging him to med but i got attacked by a guy in a riot suite (dont know if it was a sec that missed my massmurder) and died. Why you think you should be unbanned: After i got banned for seven days i went to the discord and bragged about it not even explaining myself just insulting the staff and saying stupid stuff, so i got perma banned which in conclusion i could have really done better. I was really stupid and a fair perma ban and i cant argue about my stupidy. But i really love this game and the community and i really want to go back being a Barkeeper and talking to people instead of antagging and insulting.
