Rule Clarifications

Questions and clarifications about rules more specific than can reasonably be included in the detailed version of the rules themselves.

Important Information

This is exclusively for clarifications to rules on Wizard's Den servers. The detailed version of Wizard's Den server rules can be found at https://wiki.spacestation14.io/wiki/Server_Rules.

While answers may be cited in ahelps and ban appeals, and admins will do their best to detail any limitations of the answer, there may be cases where they don't apply. No answer prohibits an individual admin, or the admin team, from deviating from it in a specific case, however answers here are likely to be strongly considered when determining if any OOC actions will be taken.

A lack of a question or answer here should never be interpreted to have any meaning. If the answer to a question, or the question itself, does not exist, you should not blindly assume that it is permitted by the rules nor should you blindly assume that it is forbidden by them. For example, a lack of a question or answer about a potential bug, does not mean that it will not be treated as a bug if exploited.

Tags are meant to aid in organization, you should check the answer given in a post for specific information about the circumstances it applies in. A lack of an MRP or LRP tag is not a guarantee that the answer does not apply to the server type.

LRP - Applies on the LRP servers: Lizard, Miros, Spider, Centipede
MRP - Applies on the MRP servers: Salamander
Roleplay - A "roleplay" rule typically only applies up until the round summary appears. After the summary, these rule no longer apply. Rules about self-antagging are roleplay rules.
Gameplay - Gameplay rules typically apply at any time within the game, including in OOC. Rules like the rule forbidding ERP are gameplay rules.
Bug - Determinations on whether or not something is considered a bug or exploit.
Miscellaneous - Miscellaneous rules don't fit well into another category. They include rules and policies on account sharing and ban appeals.

Before Posting

Keep the following in mind when posting to or asking questions in this section:

This is not for reviewing past ahelps or situations. Concerns about past admin actions should be brought to the head admin.
Questions should be vague enough that it is likely for the situation to occur in the future. "If someone welderbombs, can I kill them?" or "As a syndie, can I steal and hoard all of the station's food?" are fine, but describing the background of a situation in great detail likely means it's too unlikely to happen to be appropriate to ask here.
Do not peanut post, and do not provide answers or personal opinions on questions. Answers are provided by game admins and are based on how the game admin team enforces rules.
You are not required to include tags in your post, but should include an MRP or LRP tag if your question is specific to one of those. Tags will be corrected by the answering admin if needed.
Do not ask questions that are directly answered by the more detailed version of the rules at https://wiki.spacestation14.io/wiki/Server_Rules.
Search the section for your question and similar ones to see if it has already been answered, or if the answer to another similar question can be applied to your question.
